GETTING STARTED ON UTOPIAN; TUTORIALS WITH SCREENSHOTS

For all those with great ideas to contribute to open source projects but do not know how to get started on utopian, this is a step to step tutorial on everything about getting started on Utopian.

INTRODUCTION
Utopian is simply a platform that rewards useful contributions on open source projects.

Register For Utopian

Step 1
Search utopian.io on your browser. You will be referred to the Utopian home page,, read through the guidelines on what utopian is all about and the best ways to contribute on the different open source projects. Then you scroll back up and click on sign up

Step 2
You will be directed to a page for you to fill in your steemit username

Step 3
You will be directed to a new page for you to fillin you email address

Step 4
You will be directed to a new page to fill in your country code and phone number. You will then receive a code sent to your phone number via sms.

Step 5
You will be directed a page where you will fill in the code sent to you then you click continue.
Then you will be redirected o a new page with a message that you will receive a verification link once you have been approved. You will check your email constantly for the mail. Once you cliick on the link that will be sent to you, you will login via steemconnect, that is if you are not registered on steem connect yet.

Step 6
You go back to utopia.io page and click on login. You will be directed to feeds page where you can view the different categorie you can contribute on and the recent posts in each catagory. Then to make your own contibution, you click on the plus icon at the header of the screen.

Step 7
You will then be directed to a page where you will choose the category you want to contribute under. Then you scroll down and read the rules under that category then click on I Understand

Step 8
You will then be directed to the create post page where you fill in your content.
In the repository section, ou just type in any of the opwn source projects you are contributing on , lets say Steemit, then you click on enter. A list of the different repository will pop up and then you choose the one our post is related to.
When you fill in your title, you scroll down to see if there has been any similar contributions made,, if there is, your contribution will not be approvedand you wont get an upvote from the utopian-io bot.

Then you fill in your tags and post. And thats it. You login to your steemit account and the post will be on your blog.
