in Healthy Steem9 months ago

Hello my beautiful and handsome friends of healthy community, happy Sunday to you all. I hope you went to church for some of us that are christians and I hope you were blessed from your place of worship, as for me I enjoyed every bit of it in God's presence.

We were nourished spiritually today,so let's also see how we can be nourish physically by gaining some insight through this healthy food challenge organized by @mesola.

I'll be sharing my inputs by answering the challenge questions;

✍️What are the healthy food in your place that is suitable for morning, afternoon and evening

I am a Nigerian, precisely from Akwa Ibom state.
My state is known as the home of good food and delicacies, you can take that to the bank and you can ask around if you doubt.

So we have a handful of healthy food that are suitable for morning, afternoon and evening but I'm going to mention and emphasize on few.....

• We have plantain porridge:- This food can be eaten at any time of the day as you pleased...

  • We also have vegetables(we called it in my local dialect Edikang ikong): you can prepare it as soup; use it to eat with semovita, fufu, garri or you can still use the vegetables to prepare fish and meat sauce, then eat it with your boiled rice, boiled yam, boiled plantain and even potatoes.

Note*: you can actually use this vegetables to spice up your food; like I use it to spice up my plantain porridge, yam porridge and my jellof rice.

• Another natural healthy food you can find in my place is called banana pudding (we call it otomboro). Chai you this food,it is mainly prepared for the nursing mothers who are nursing new born babies. It is very rich in nutrients.

• Then we have also pepper soup; it could be goat meat pepper soup, beef, fish or chicken pepper soup. which can be used in eating with boiled rice or anything boiled. Pepper soup is always prepared for women who just put to birth.

• We also have corn🌽

Corn is one of our local delicacies, you can boil to eat, roast to eat. And we can prepare it inform of porridge, we call it "ubek". You can spice it up with vegetables.

✍️Are these food full of preservatives or is fresh from the garden

These are natural food items gotten from the garden; for instance, the plantain, banana are both gotten from the farm and even the vegetables we grow them in our garden.

So they are freshly gotten from our farm or garden, just know how to plant and grow them. And you are good to go.

✍️What are the healthy benefits

Plantain is a very good source of fiber which are very important in digestion process. Fibre can also help in the regulation of blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol and promote satisfaction.

Plantain is also an excellent source of potassium which is good for the heart, and can help to regulate blood pressure thereby preventing stroke.

Another healthy benefit of plantain is that, it is a good source of vitamin B6. And this vitamin is responsible for energy metabolism and functioning of the brain.

Plantains are also good source of vitamin C, which serves as antioxidants that helps to protect cells from damaging.

All these are freshly gotten from the garden, note that.
Try your best to eat food that are free from preservatives,in other words eat healthy and stay healthy.

Don't always forget that your health is your wealth
