Effort is the Path to Wisdom
Effort is such a non-fancy word.. Who wants to hear that they need to put more effort into their lives? Nobody wants to hear that.
Nobody wants to hear it, but it's a fundamental truth to our society and to life itself.
The more effort we put into things, the more rewarding they feel.
I often relate this back to evolution - our evolutionary mechanics have ingrained our bodies with hormones and endorphins that flood when we succeed in something that's hard.
Something like hunting or making some sort of big catch or big escape of some sort is what comes to mind for me.
If you can imagine yourself as a hunter gatherer, then you can imagine the amazing feeling that certain people would get when they found berries or hunted down an animal to feed their family.
The people who could feel best about these opportunties to boost their likliehood of survival are likely the ones who kept on leveraging those same opportunities through hard work.
And thus, through tens of thousands of years and the process of natural selection, you end up with our particular makeup today.
Today we still have an innate desire for these challenges in life. We have an innate desire to achieve greatness and reach for the stars. Many people just keep it all bottled up!
Don't bottle it up. Take action and do the things that require a lot of effort. Do them with the knowledge that they only serve to make you better over the long run!

Just because our animal instincts don't value things coming easily to our in any way mean there are no easy opportunities. A wise man will always keep his eyes open to all possibilities and would value each opportunity equally. After all....
"The sad truth is that opportunity doesn't knock twice."
