The official Tour de France is probably still in trouble due to Covid-19 but games are still on track. Tour de France 2020, coming in early June for consoles and PC, is one such game. Fans will be able to take on the full tour as well as various gaming centric modes. Such as the new Time Trial mode.

Tour de France 2020 is more than bicycles

Publisher Nacon and developer Cyanide are keeping themselves busy with this game. Previously they announced a new first-person mode as well as other updates. Now there is a new Time Trial mode that is being added.

Positioning your rider on their bicycle is key to winning. Leaning forward and resting your forearms on the bars can reduce air resistance. Stamina will be something that you will have to keep an eye on as well. Gain speed to quickly and you give up some control of the bike – dangerous for many reasons. Stamina can be regained while going down slopes.

Things like this may be new to racing fans.

In motorcycle and other vehicle racing games stamina of the driver is not a concern. This adds a new level of realism to the game and ups the challenge level.

Other improvements

Liège-Bastogne-Liège ("The Old Lady"), a 266km race of steep climbs is now added to the game. Test your abilities on this new track.

Long time fans will notice a newly redesigned interface as well.

A deeper time trial where rider body posture and sprint management can spell victory or defeat.

A much more realistic artificial intelligence that is just waiting for an opportunity to overtake your position.

Tour de France 2020 by Nacon should be on the radar of any racing game fan wanting something different. Fans of the real-world race are already at the bottom of this article checking the links out.
