About Medellin

The town of Medellin is located in the most northern part of Cebu. It is known as the "sugar bowl" of the province since most of its 7,4000 hectare land area is a sugarcane plantation. It is a 4 hours land trip ride via public bus or at least 3 hours via van from Cebu City to Kawit, Medellin, Cebu. Travel time can be shorter for those who travel by private vehicle :)

We took the aircon bus (Ceres) to Kawit, Medellin. All resorts are located near the major roads and the drive or the conductor is already familiar with different resorts around the area. It is best to let them know in advance to which resort you want to be dropped off.

When we arrived at our resort this is what we see from the restaurant as we wait for our room to be checked in. It is so beautiful and relaxing that the 4 hours drive from the city to this small town is WORTH IT! The hours that we spend sitting were gone the moment we saw the adventure that awaits us.

Seahorse Tourist Inn - white sand beach with crystal clear water just few steps from your room. It is a private resort with perfect view of Gibitngil Island. Aircon rooms available:

• Family Room = good for 4 persons at 2,000 pesos
• Single Room = good for 2 persons at 1,700 pesos

note: Additional charge of 200 pesos per adult and 100 pesos per kid

After we had our breakfast, we were able to put our things in our room and the boat we rented for the day is here for us to travel the island of Gibitngil also known as FUNTASTIC ISLAND

What to do in Funtastic Island, Medellin

Gibitngil Island is unique with its series of rock formations just few meters away from the main island's shore. It is connected with concrete foot bridge. There are a lot of activities that can be done - ziplining, cliff diving and of course, snorkeling.
