SEC14 WK:#6: "Welcome!"

What does 'welcome' mean to you and what do you use it for? Mention 3 instances

Welcome is and expression for showing affirmation and recognision upon the arrival of a guest or newcomer. It is a kind act of reception or greeting prompting a sense of belonging in the recipient.

Welcome can be used in a wide range of instances.

  • It can be used for greeting a visitor. Upon the arrival of a guest, it is very polite and friendly to say "you are welcome". This makes your guest feel less of a stranger.

  • Welcome can also be used to receive new comers who are making their first appearance in a group or association. It would make them feel less tensed being around new people.

  • Welcome is also applied in business administration. To make a customer feel free and comfortable. Hotel attendance, waitress, traders and a wide range of other fields employ this when receiving customers.

How do you feel when this word is used for you and how do you also think the person you use it for feels about it.

When walking into a friend's home, joining a group or arriving at a new place. Being told "welcome" makes me feel less tensed and more accepted. It makes me relaxed and associate more freely with those around.

I also believe people I greet or receive with a good welcome feel more accepted and loosen up even more.

Why should you use this word more often and why is it important to teach our kids to use it

Welcome is a very polite word that is often used to show acceptance and reception. To give others a sense of belonging when in a new environment. It is hence advisable to adopt this system of approach more often.

In a new environment, one is bound to be more self conscious and uptight so a welcome helps then loosen up a bit.

If just a welcome can do this then of course it should be taught to kids. We should teach kids good values and this is definitely one to uphold.

As you welcome 2024, what are your expectations and how do you intend to achieve them?

Entering a new year always gives me this anxious yet exciting feeling. A feeling of being renewed and pomped up.

For this new year, 2024, I have various expectations, most of which are for myself. There are so many things I wish to achieve in this new year. One is gaining a reputation of 70 or above on my steemit account before the year runs out.

I know to achieve this, I would have to be consistent and hardworking. I would have to faithfully continue making quality contents on the platform and engaging with other users. This, I intend to do this year.

Thank you for taking time to read through.

This is best part of the article for me, it's show that though people get anxious about what the new year holds, they're still excited that they've made it through the last year. And also get the feeling of being stronger and determined to do better than the previous year. Kudos 😊
Happy new year @uduak01
