My Actifit Report Card: April 22 2024
We had a nice day back up on the remote stretches of Lynx Creek enjoying a few hours under the sun alongside the gentle waters.
The morning brought the sight of the first blooming Iris in my little garden to add a colorful start to my day.
After our morning loop it was off towards Walker to hike down the steep forest road towards the creek. It was nicer here under the trees and higher altitude so that the heat was absent.
We descended a mile and then began the tougher hike along the ravine with plenty of rocks and trees.
Amazing to think that over a hundred years ago this area was a gold mining center that produced millions of dollars worth of gold but now its quiet and all that remains are bits of gold scattered among the old poles of rock tailings left by the dredges.
Lulu enjoyed roaming around the area and then resting in the shade by the creek while I poked around for gold - dug up about a hundred dollars worth - before heading back up the steep climb through the brush back to the car which was a tiring way to end the effort.
Soon the melted snow flowing down will dry up and the creek will be dry intil autumn but until then we'll continue to explore and have fun
