TF2 How Weapon Balances should be Handled.

in #gaming7 years ago

So, Recently from playing TF2 I saw Many people not understanding how Weapons were Balanced in Jungle Inferno. so I thought I would Give out my own Two Cents on how the Weapon Balances should be Handled.

I know Uncle Dane Recently Talked about this, and I share the same opinion on how the Weapons should be Balanced as he does.

Anyway, Weapons Should Be Balanced Towards the Competitive community.

"If Weapons are Balanced for The Highest Level of play, its Balanced for all of the Other Levels of Play." - Uncle Dane 2018

Its a Pretty Simple Process really. Lets Look at some Weapons That were Balanced for Comp in Jungle Inferno.

The B.A.S.E Jumper had its Changes because, And I Quote "Because Players have complained that B.A.S.E Jumpger Soldiers were too Hard to Hit".

Of Course, the Confused Casuals Players said this...

Casual Players Thought Valve Made a Mistake about the B.A.S.E Jumper, Turns out the Complaints about the B.A.S.E Jumper Came from the Competitive Players, Where People can Easily Abuse the Way it Works.

Another Example is the Fists of Steel. Just by having the Fist of Steel Equipped You get Less Healing and Overheal. In a Casual Meta, this Means Very Little, as Heavy Already has a ton of Health and another Healing Option.

But in a Competitive Meta, this is Huge, as a Heavy-Medic Combo with the Fists of Steel can basically be Unkillable.

So yea, My Point is, Weapons should be Balanced for Comp, Not Casual
