THE REAPER

The story of the lady that harvests souls was my favorite as a growing child.
While grandma told the story, she referred to her as "the collector" but as I grew older I learned she was called a REAPER.

In grandma's words, she was an uptight judge who summoned spirits for the guilty ones who took another's life.
These guilty ones were locked up in an old rooky cell with a crucifix turned downward and at night, the lights would flicker as they screamed to death. And by morning, their lifeless bodies would be found drained and miserable.
A guard who was on duty on one of the nights she visited said all he saw was a struggling body suspending in the air and a cloak when the light stayed on for a second.

Though grandma says he was taken to an asylum because no one believed him.
Why?

Because legend has it that no one saw a REAPER and lived to tell the story, for she would reap every life force out of you.
Unfortunately for the old judge, her husband died of a heart attack during a heated argument with her and the reaper paid her a visit in person.

That was the last time anyone saw her. Some say she moved to a new town but grandma says she became what she summoned upon others. Her body was possessed and a judgmental immortal was set on the loose.
She became an eternal slave to her servant and till date she still roams around earth reaping souls of murderers.
No matter where you run to, she finds you.
