UBUNTU Voluntaryism Movement: Helping An Exotic Animal Rescue Centre & Empowering Communities for a Balanced Planet.

in #life7 years ago

Announcing the launch of a new volunteer programme for 2017 in South Africa. Caring for abandoned or injured wild animals. Share your skills with people from the local community. Be a teacher and a learner, build the foundations for successful and sustainable projects. The farm is run by Greg Mitchell and his wife Sarah – mainly operating as an animal rehabilitation centre for a wide variety of wild African animals – with  some animals roaming freely and some in cages. It is a 110 acre farm located on the edge of the spectacular mountains surrounding the town of  Badplaas (Bath Farm) in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. The farm consists of a lodge that operates as a weekend getaway for city  folk, with log cabins to accommodate around 40 people, and a swimming  pool. The farm has crystal clear fresh mountain water and all the basic infrastructure to expand into many projects. First Phase - Starting in  January 2017. The first phase will focus on foundation building –  supporting the existing animal rehabilitation activity while creating  new projects to support it. This is normally the hardest part of  starting any volunteer programme – but also the most exciting part, where life-long friendships are forged and miracles happen every day. We need to be very selective in the first phase of volunteers for the  creation of a solid platform for all the intended projects to come. While people will be chosen for their specialised skills everyone is  expected to help and get involved in all areas of activity, where it may  be needed. We invite volunteers with the following skills to join us:

• Wild Animal care and rehabilitation (Training on the job )

• Lodge and  dining room management

• Chef / Cook / Baker

• Farm yard /cows /  chickens / eggs /milk / butter /cheese / etc.

• Organic food growers –  Farming

• Food processing & preservation/ Bottling / Packaging /  Storing

• Seedling cultivation – this is a large part of our new  projects

• Mushroom cultivation

• Traditional medicinal herbs and plants  – growing and packaging

• Builders and Handymen – Carpenters, Plumbers,  Electricians

• Artists / Crafters / Potters / Weavers / Any other  specialised skills

• Web skills / IT / Graphic Designers

PLEASE NOTE:  This is NOT a job offer as some have mistakenly seen it, and neither is  it a place for people to come live for free, to escape their personal  problems. This is an opportunity for those who want to take a few months  off from the madness of the world, to come contribute towards building  and creating something new and unique in the world – and in the process  maybe find their true-self, as is often the case in these situations. We  need real skills in people that will not be shy to get their hands dirty.

COST to VOLUNTEERS

Unfortunately we cannot afford to feed and  house everyone at our own cost – so we have made it as affordable as  possible for everyone, especially for those using currencies like the US$, EURO or GBP. By becoming a volunteer in this project, you will not  only help build something unique, but also contribute towards laying the  foundations of future sustainable community projects.

Volunteer  contribution is $30 per day – For accommodation; three meals per day,  coffees and teas – and other basic necessities. Cigarettes, alcohol and  other addictions will be for your own account.

I have been following the Ubuntu movement for quite some time. Is awesome to see progress and I really wish I could go as a volunteer. Thanks for the post.

where there is a will, there is a way! however, i know that the movement is intended to spread around the planet - so maybe you can start something locally to you?

I am a member and speak out about it every chance I get. Sadly I have had heart attacks 3 times last year. Physically I am recovering, but it is slow going and really hard to create an income and volunteer time too. Also there is only one other member within 10 miles of where I live. So there is a will, but the way needs time for me to recover and more members to work with. Aloha which means love.

i see, ok - yes, it is more important to heal your own body and self than to help others; without your own health you are not able to help others - as you are highlighting. in truth, volunteers could be helping you - although we are often too proud to accept help!
do you know the cause of your heart problems?
mahalo! ;)

There was a Magnesium and Potassium imbalance. My wife figured it out and I have been steadily getting stronger all this year. I am eating certain foods and taking certain vitamins. Is not bad at all being at home. Feel very lucky to have had the heart attacks as I have an excuse to be with my family and don't have to feel bad about it.

Don't know how I rate the most wonderful women in the world, but she is mine. Don't know how I got the best Son a man could ask for or how I got the most awesome daughter in the world either, but they are mine. The world doesn't need to feed me and I wouldn't like being a leech even if I needed it legitimately.

I do want to contribute to a world of wonder for those I eventually will leave behind and I will, but I am selfish in that I want to be here on this plane of existence with my wonderful family for as long as I can.

Nice sharing with you. Aloha.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be with those you love - it is easy to create guilt by judging self as 'selfish', when in truth you are just doing what is right for you.
It's good that you have found a potential cause of your imbalance - nutrition is certainly key to healing many body problems. The heart is the main electromagnetic organ in the body system and that includes it being the main centre of bonding for thoughts and feelings. Physical imbalance generally begins with a non physical imbalance, so you might benefit from being carefully attentive to your thoughts with regards self-blame and other forms on non self-acceptance. By ending self blame and increasing self acceptance, you can increase balance and feel better fast.
Maybe you already know about this, but it's never wrong to be re-minded of something so important and so generally misunderstood! <3

What you are talking about I have been reading about in the meditation studies. Is amazing when you discover that the heart produces over 5000 times the electromagnetic field the brain does and they see a form of communication between the heart, brain and gut. Investigator think the heart is controlling the communication.

When I read that it made me laugh so hard my health insurance almost went up by osmosis. lol I laughed hard because anyone who listens to their heart could have told them this . The investigators could have saved a lot of money hiring me as a consultant. lol

hehe :)
i have been writing on heart/mind/gut integration for several years - after finding a series of books that were channelled from spirit over 20 years ago that explain the situation with regards to healing in great depth. i am frustrateed sometimes to that the 'voices of alleged authority' in academia just happen to 'discover' what many have known for 1000s of years and who have often even been persecuted by academia for sharing of what they knew.
may we all find balance and truth.
