Hello everyone! Today I am going to share with you some pictures of a butterfly that I have taken in the evening.IMG_20200202_142012359.jpgIMG_20200202_142317822_1.jpgIMG_20200202_142324714.jpg

This is a Plain-tiger butterfly that is toxic. Another butterfly that is 'Great egg fly' (female) mimic these butterflies to be safe from birds.
Plain-tiger has a black spot on both wings lacked by Great-egg fly.

    Nice shots! What do you mean by toxic? Does it hurt humans if it gets in touch with the skin?

      Plain Tiger is able to use poisonous compounds, ingested from the host plant during its larval stage, as a form of defense. They also consume plants commonly known as milkweed. Milkweed contains toxic compounds. So, they are probably poisonous for birds or other animals who consume them.
