1981 - The Year of Rock
The marvellous @backinblackdevil is running a fun challenge at the moment called "x-daysofmusic" to celebrate his 38th birthday - so he is covering 38 years of music which has covered already a lot great tracks I remember, some I even like as well. I promised to take part once in a while - not every year as I am not opening up how old I am lol. Today I cover a serially ear for me. The year I became that avid Foreigner fan having bought the best rock album of all-time called "4" as music cassette - a masterpiece of music created mainly by Mick Jones and Lou Gramm.
Foreigner
Foreigner is THE band that always will be my favourite of all times no matter of my Techno / EDM DJ career or other music I love - Foreigner marks a special point in my life - bought all of their songs / albums across the formats available until the CD was launched.
Foreigner 4 was released on July 2, 1981 and included the hit singles "Juke Box Hero", "Urgent" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You" - all 10 songs are masterpieces so listen to the entire album below which was sold over seven million copies in the US alone.

I would love to have our guitar hero @steevc from the UK to get involved here so I am nominating him - anyone that wants to take part is happily welcomed - some rules below but they are not that strict - you shall have fun!

- Starting from the birth year to today (hmmmm, above)
- Search for songs from this year you still like today (I just decided for 1981)
- Post daily, weekly, as you like for each additional year a few songs that you like until you arrive this year
- Write a little bit about the year, music or yourself

I've got a lot of years to cover and I don't mind exposing my age. I could do one a week for a year :) Maybe I could do one for each decade instead.
decade approach is a good idea :-) - main thing you have fun and we get some great music.
Wow, what a surprise that Foreigner is your favorite band! I saw them live, in Barcelona in 2006. It was an incredible concert so I can't imagine how good they could be in late 70s and early 90s. Have you ever seen them live? My favorite songs are 'Starrider' and 'Urgent'. The sound of 'Starrider' is absolutely amazing, from other planet!
Yes - saw them in the best lineup in 1985 at Rock Am Ring - Open air in Germany - my favourites hardly can be named but as an example the not so known song "Girl on The Moon" from "4" with its slide guitar is a killer.
It is a shame to admit but I have never heard about Foreigner or at least I didn't know that name. I will update my knowledge today
