Hi Steemians.

I m back with another topic about blogger's success on Steem Network or any other platform.

It is always said " Don't Judge the book by it's cover "
But why it's often said?
Because it's human nature to judge things based on their physical representation.

The Steem network is growing too fast and it's hard to be listed on trending list.

As a viewer we use to navigate to our live feed section which seems like this:

OR

tn2.JPG

Now the only thing i can see is the Title, A short Description and an Image, which we are calling as cover or thumbnail.

Now while navigating as a user there are only three major factors that enforce me to open and read specific post:

i. User or publishers (If i follow and read their content regularly)
ii. Post title (If it's interesting)
iii. Cover Image (If it's smart)

Now we have three key features of being noted as a publisher, Let's leave the above two for later and discuss about the third one (Cover Image)

Post title can be ignored in some cases while navigation but image cannot be ignored because it's the only Large and most visible thing of the page.

Not only on steemit or blogging sites but on youtube thousands of youtubers are using this method to get views by showing fake thumbnail, which off-course I don't encourage.

Let's compare some of my own post to see how thumbnails work in real time.

The above shown two post are published on my blog last month and you can see however the thumbnails are not attractive on both posts but the first one is properly aligned and readable for which i got upvotes worth of 151$ and the second one posted before this got almost 40$ worth upvote. The number of upvotes are also different and the number of views were also different.

WHAT THUMBNAILS ARE BEST
Please see this post I published months ago.
Based on my personal researched these type of thumbnails proved to be best.

But Why?

Because we have a nice and unique Image with a clear and readable title and lastly a human expression, make sure to ad those border to make things more visible.

It's best in my opinion but it may not be, Try to make your own innovative covers and see what works best for you

Now if you have a great post that took hours to write and compile why not invest a 10 minutes to make a lovely Covers to get more and more attraction.
I use Pixabay to get images, Always see copyrights mentioned on right side of page to see if image is allowed to be used for commercial use without CC.

In short, learn those skills to get and image from free sources and make it unique by adding your editing skills, If you don't have these skills please get assistance from your Photoshop mastered friend.

Always Invest your time for creating correct things. Be consistent and you are all set for a long term success.

"NICE CONTENT DESERVES NICE COVERS"
