HOLY SPIRIT: THE PRESENCE THAT EMPOWERS FRUITFULNESS
Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92: 13 (KJV)
They that are planted in “God’s presence” shall enjoy “unending fruitfulness” Psalm 92: 13 (Emphasized Version)
Introduction
For every fruiting, there must be a conception. But, not every condition is suitable for conception. In creation and our everyday lives, conception is either activated by the presence of a personality (as in human, animals) or agents of pollination e.g. wind, insects (as in plants). Conception of ideas can be provoked by environment, pain, hurt, and so on. Even God could not avert this principle in creation and His re-creation plans.
The Holy Spirit Presence in Creation
Before the creation began, the Spirit of God which signifies God’s presence hovered on the waters (Genesis 1: 2). We could rightly say, God’s Spirit was incubating or activating the conception of all the creatures.
The Holy Spirit Presence in the Re-creation Plan
Also, when man had failed, God’s re-creation plan also had the effective empowerment of the Holy Spirit on Mary for conception of the holy seed – Jesus (Luke 1: 35). Whenever the Holy Spirit is on a man, there is an empowerment…
Consider these verses:
“…the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” Luke 1: 35
“How God anointed Him with Power, he went about doing good… ” Acts 1: 38, Luke 4: 4
“And ye shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” Acts 1: 8
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is always accompanied with power and extraordinary exploits as recorded above. The conception of Christ was empowered by the Holy Spirit, likewise his ministry which was evidenced with super-testimonies. This presence, Christ always enjoyed throughout his walk. That is why Christ would emphatically say, “I am in the Father and the Father is in me”. The disciples were also given an instruction to wait until the empowerment comes which is to provoke their fruitfulness.
Many characters in the bible who produced great results and fruits did enjoyed the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit:
- Bezalel and Oholiab’s creativity in crafts was the empowered by the Holy Spirit (Gen. 35: 30-35; 36:1).
- Joseph’s prosperity in the house of Potiphar was as result of the presence of God (Genesis 39: 2, 21).
- Sarah’s conception was borne of the power of God (Hebrews 11: 12).
Emphasis
The Holy Spirit is God’s promised presence with man (John 14: 16; Matthew 28: 20b). When you abide in God’s presence, fruitfulness is not negotiable.
How do we activate this presence?
The presence of God can be activated for fruitfulness. L will only share a few in this piece:
- Praise (Acts 16: 25-29). Paul and Silas praised God and the Holy Spirit descended to cause their release from chains.
- Prayer (1 Samuel 1: 9-19). Hannah provoked divine presence through her prayer. The presence of God activated her conception of Samuel.
- Service (Luke 1: 8 - 24). Zechariah was in the place of service even at old age and it was at the place of service that he enjoyed divine presence through the angel’s visit and this resulted in the conception of John the Baptist.
Wisdom line: When you make God’s presence your relational environment for your brooding, then fruitfulness is not negotiable.
