The Queen Of Light

Seventeen hundred years ago, there was a man just like you and me who lived near a village surrounded by mountains overlooking a great sea. He was studying to become a traditional doctor after the demise of his father.
He spent most of his days in the wilderness to learn the knowledge of his ancestors, but he did not completely agree with every-thing the old man was teaching him. In his heart he had a deep searching, a feeling for something much more.
One day, as he slept in a cave, he dreamed that he saw a woman come sleep with him from the clouds. She took his hand and led him out of the cave on the night of a new moon. Her eyes were clear like the sky, and he could see millions of stars twinkling around her hair.
Then something happened that transformed his existence forever. He looked at her hands, they were warm and tender, he felt the chilly breeze upon his body, and he heard a gentle voice say “I am made of you; and you are made of me, you are made of light; and I am made of stars”.
The man looked at the heavens again, and he realized that it was not the stars that created light. Everything was made of a strange illumination, he concluded. “and the space between isn’t empty” he said. And he knew that every thing that was in existence was one living being, and light was the messenger of life, because it is alive and contains every single information.
Then he realized that although he was made of light, he was not as beautiful and bright as the stars. “She is the only one who can make me shine” he thought. So he called the woman queen of light, and her face shone brighter than a dying sun, and he knew that what created the harmony between them was pure light and bliss.
And he came to the conclusion that without her light upon him, he could not exist. She was the force of the supreme, the absolute gift to every lonely man. And he smiled at the revelation that he was just a mirror reflecting her light, and the real world was nothing but an illusion, a dream that disallowed men to see what they really were. “The real us is pure love, and pure light” she said with a smile.
He woke up from the dream with a realization that had changed his entire life. For now he knew what he really was. He looked around at other humans and nature, and he was perplexed by what he saw.
He saw light in every thing-----------in every man, in every woman, in every tree, in every animal, in the rain, in the wind, in the clouds, in the earth. And he saw that life was the manifestation of the very same light in a billion different unimaginable forms.
In those few moments he comprehended every-thing, he was so glad his heart was filled with deep peace. As he thought more and more about the woman in his dream. He could hardly wait to see her again, and he wanted to tell every body what he had discovered. But there were no words to describe or explain it.
He tried to tell his grandfather, but the old man could not understand. But he could see that something in his son had changed, that something beautiful was radiating from his eyes and there was rich color in his voice. Even the village people had noticed he no longer had judgement about anything or anyone. He was no longer like anyone else.
He could understand every one very well, but no one could understand him. The villagers believed he was a reincarnation of God, and he laughed when he heard this, “it is true, I am god. But you are also god. We are the same, you and I. We are images reflecting a divine light, we are gods” but still the people did not understand.
He had discovered that he had become very different from the rest of the people, and he was starting to descend into the dark pit of loneliness. He saw himself in every one, but nobody saw him in themselves. And he realized that his existence would never be the same again without his queen of light.
So everyday, he went to the cave where she came to him in the dream, hoping to see her once again, least he would soon forget everything he had learnt. He wanted to remember all the revelations he had had, so he decided he would wait for her every day, upon a rock at the entrance of the cave. He sat on the rock waiting for his queen of light, from sun down to sun down, there he sat, overlooking the sea.
And as surely as dust settled upon him, and day turned to night, his heart beat slowed bit by bit till it eventually stopped, and as more dust settled upon his body, it slowly transformed to stone. He was free and his existence had returned back to the source of all light, there till this day, he sits, staring afar into the sea, still waiting for his queen to come back to him.
