Do not Wash Your Hair
This might sound ancient and some people says it just a myth. If you wash your hair during your periods, your flow will be less and it will affect your fertility later in life. This, I believe cause I used to do this and ignored my mum advise in my younger days. I end up having only one daughter!
Always Make a 'Map' on Mattress
Now this rather embarassing, everytime when the menstrual aka bff comes, sometime unexpected and sometime ontime, I always made a 'map' or blood spot on the mattress of my bed. It so tedious, you have to wash and clean everything! One tips to prevent this is to wear pad before your period due and on the first day, wear an overnight pad.
Feel Like Your Hips Torn Apart
Menstrual cramps tend to begin after ovulation when an egg is released from the ovaries and travels down the fallopian tube. You'll felt pain on the lower abdomen and lower back.
If you have painful menstrual cramps, take aspirin or pain reliever, such as ibuprofen.
If you're not fond of medicatian then use heat method. Place a heating pad or hot water bottle on your lower back or tummy.
So Moody
No one like to be in pain. As much as I want to be in a good mood and pretend like it's all okay, I become moody.
Woman’s body is preparing for pregnancy during the menstrual cycle these brain chemicals are increased to accommodate that. When the woman does not become pregnant these chemicals are quickly reduced and this is the cause of the moods that women experience. Women can go from feeling very good to feeling very bad in a very short period of time prior to her Pre Menstrual Syndrome or PMS.
I used to take primrose oil tablet to overcome my moodiness but since I read somewhere that it could cause cycst inflamation, I stop. Now, everytime my bff comes, I just find something that's makes me happy like watching comedy or reading something I like.
Craving for Ice cream or Cold drinks
Chinese women teach their daughters not to drink cold water, especially during their periods as it can mess up with their health. Studies also say that cold water can increase pain during periods. So, it's advisable to have warm or hot water during those five days in the month.
Foods like milk, cheese, and ice cream contain arachidonic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid which can increase inflammation and can cause cramping.
Knowing this, I still crave for Ice Cream everytime the bff comes. Sometime I just try to resist and sometime...well we only live once.. I just go for it...LOL
