Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 51: A Day Like A Thousand Years.

A day consists of 24 hours which can be easily spent, whereas a thousand years consists of millions of hours, which could be said to lead to eternity. Today, most people barely lives up to a century. If one does, he's considered very lucky.

A thousand years could be a lifespan for ten different generations, if they were to live for a hundred years. That could be a number of years one could never imagine to live up to. But imagine a day which seems like a thousand years, how difficult it will be to spend. One could keep waiting for that day to end, but to no avail.

Imagine spending a day which seems like eternity. Eternity in the sense that the day doesn't seem to be coming to an end, you could feel very unhappy and sad if perhaps you were alone at home expecting someone to come back home later in the evening.

Many people if asked can affirm that they have experienced that maybe once. They can tell you their various experiences, how unpleasant it was, showing that a day like a thousand years is definitely not something to think about or hope to experience.

Perhaps a person woke up early in the morning with nothing to do after performing various chores in the home. Later he cooks for himself eats and relax with no where to go, he sleeps, wakes up expecting the time to have passed very quickly like a leap of 3 to 4 hours. But to his greatest surprise it's been only 40 minutes he slept for.

That experience could be very frustrating indeed . A young girl Gina, 18 years of age experienced a day which seemed like a thousand years. She woked up one morning performed all her morning chores, ate breakfast and began thinking of what to do which could while away her time because she had no where to go.

Her phone battery was low, as a result she couldn't keep herself entertained. She kept thinking of what to do to keep herself busy till her family members get back. As time went on, Gina decided to sleep, hoping that when she wakes up it's late and the day is ending.

On waking up, to her greatest surprise the day wasn't gone like she thought it will be. She was so bored and was wondering what to do to make the time run fast so that her family members would be back. She sat outside gazing deep into the sun wondering what to do to while away time.

Gina went inside,checked the time which turned out to be 10:45am. She was very shocked at how slow the time is, it was very disappointing for her, as she had expected the time to go by faster than she could imagine after she had slept for a while and woke up, but to her dismay, the time wasn't fast as she had thought it will be.

As time went on, she engaged herself in knitting, which was a hobby for her. Eventually she got tired and decided to rest because her hands were numb. Having no where to go, she decided to walk around the neighborhood and return home later. Her decision to walk around eventually didn't turn out well.

Gina got tired after walking around for a while. It didn't take long before she returned back. She relaxed, ate, slept and woke up again. But time was still very slow, it seemed like an eternity. The day didn't seem to be passing by quickly for others to be back, which will ease her boredom.

Eventually, she came to a realization that the day was going to be a long one. She sighed in resignation that her day was going to be a very long one and there was nothing she could do to change that sad fact.

A young boy named Shane, 13 years of age shared his experience as well. He recounts her bad he felt when he had to spend his day in futility. He walked round the house looking for what to do, decided to do something creative which didn't out well. But time didn't seem to be on his side as it didn't go by quickly.

His siblings attested to the day being like a thousand years as well. While waiting for their parents to be back, they had nothing to do which made the day seem very long to them. They tried doing new things that could keep them company till the day comes to an end which didn't work, as the day was still very long before it came to an end.

Many people has experienced was it feels like to spend a lay like a thousand years. I myself can testify to that, especially if u don't have anything that could keep you company. It might be an unpleasant experience that many won't wish to experience.

On the other hand a day like a thousand years could be a pleasant experience for some people. It gives some more time to do many activities, to have a well spent day. Many wish the day wasn't so short, so quick to end. They hope to have more time to finish their daily activities. Indeed a day like a thousand years could be both a pleasant and an unpleasant experience.
