THE SAPA VIRUS (THE BROKE SQUAD)

Over time the slang ‘sapa’ is one of the frequently used words in Nigeria. It is a term used to describe the state of being broke and out of cash. Sapa has been used over time to catch cruise but as insignificant as we may take it (although to some persons significant), the sapa virus can be avoided. This is why this article has been pieced together by me to highlight how this virus can be caught and how it can be avoided.

HOW IS SAPA VIRUS TRANSMITTED?

Like every other virus this special virus can be transmitted through various mediums as will be enumerated below:

• PROCRASTINATION AND LAZINESS: Even in the bible, it was said that “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest so shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth…) this is to me the number one medium by which the sapa virus can be transmitted, you do not expect to be rich and comfortable when you are lazy, Doing the right things at the right time is one of the secrets of great men.
• SPENDING MORE THAN YOUR POCKET: imagine Mr John as an accountant in a private firm receives N20,000 as salary per mount, and he spends wants to buy designer T-shirt for N25,000. If he insists on buying it, it implies that he will have to borrow money, this also means that N5,000 has been automatically deducted from his next month’s salary. If he continues like this he will become retched and poor.
• PEER PRESSURE: This is one of the reasons why Mr John in the example of No. 2 above probably bought that T-shirt, maybe it might be that his friends all had that T-shirt and so to feel among and to have a sense of belonging he decides to buy it too no matter how expensive.

PRESCRIPTION TO CURE THE SAPA VIRUS

Haven known how this virus is transmitted, it pertinent that we administer a solution to it.

• Avoid procrastination and laziness
• Spend according to your pocket
• Invest more and spend less
• Define your friendships
• Be disciplined with money

CONCLUSION

The sapa virus can be avoided if we are not extravagant with spending, Remember it is not a crime to be born poor but it is a crime to die poor.
