Hello Steemit! I'm Vinicio and I'm looking forward to share articles about computer programming!

My name is Vinicio Sanchez, and I’m eager to share with you articles about computer programming. Let me tell you a little bit about my journey with web development:

I enjoyed playing with computers since I was a child, but I never got into coding until middle school. A friend of mine wanted to create a website, and he didn’t want to be the only one!, so he dragged me into it. I created a small site about The Legend of Zelda videogame and quickly fell in love with coding:

I killed the project before heading to University (not enough time), but discovered I couldn’t live without programming projects anymore, and I created a flash game portal:

After getting my BS. I traveled to the United States to study videogame development (I'll tell you about the videogames I've developed some other time =D). I had to stop all my web projects due to the student visa limitations.

After I finished my studies in the US, it was time to find my first "real" programming Job. I’ve been a vendor at Microsoft for a little over two years. I’ve worked on Bing’s internal systems and on Surface’s website:

Most of the posts I will be sharing will be programming tutorials or my development experiences. I recently published a new personal project (no visa limitations anymore), and I would love to share my joys and sufferings. I discovered that publishing a website in 2017 is entirely different than how it was done back in the 2000s...

Please let me know what you think and kind of programming topics you would like me to explore!

Cheers,

Vinicio

Welcome to Steem @viniciosanchez I have upvoted and sent you a tip

Hi Vincio,
tell us a little something about the range of languages that you know, use, or are interested in.

Hey qed!

C#, C++, C, Javascript, and Python are the main languages I use. I think my strongest area is C# since I have been studying it quite a bit during my time at Microsoft.

I also know a little bit of Ruby, and I'm interested in learning Scala!.

I learned a bunch of other programming languages in school (Scheme, Prolog, Assembly, etc), but I'm afraid I'm very rusty on that front.

Got it, thanks for the insight.
I'm also here only for a week and I think there's lots of web stuff going on.
I do a youtube series on the (rather academic) purely functional dependently typed language Idris (Scala comes closest on your list, but not really either) and so far I've made one post about Python.
Some steemit pointers:

  • Definitely use 5 tags. Your post comes up under "/created" or "new" on that tage, once you posts it. They all have very different rotation times.
  • There's the "steemdev" tag, next to "programming". And there's "math" and "software" and "technology". You can still edit the latter 4 of 5.
  • You may use html brackets like < b r > line breaks or < centered > to format your content
PS I'm just experimenting with a Python package steempy here. You may go to the thread and post and maybe enrich the community.
Btw. nice someone with a huge rep upvoted your first post, you jumped right next to my level with 1 blog post instead of 15 blog post I posted to get to 39. But it's an exponential scale, so it's gotta be the same work to get further. I think @steempower gave you that headstart.
    Take care :)

Thank you for the great set of tips! I'll take a look at your youtube channel. I have little upvote power but your comment deserves it all.

Also, @steempower, Thank you very much for the upvote!
