Facebook Bans Crypto Advertisements

in #news7 years ago

In order to prevent "misleading" promotional practices and potential fraud Facebook is going to ban Cryptocurrency ads. You can't promote a coin, an ICO or a related service.

Since joining a bunch of Crypto related groups on Facebook I have got a ton of ICO ads. Just today I saw an ad for software to make your own coin. This is going to cost them a ton of money. One of the Board of Directors on Facebook also sits on the board at Coinbase.

Maybe it's time Steemit started taking some sidebar ads. It's just blank space on both side we should monetize. Just my opinion, I know there are people here who HATE advertisements.

this was my favorite one LOL. RIP crypto-genius

I am with you here. The ICO advertisements where infuriating when most of them couldn't even explain any sort of utility in their ads.

But imagine if Zuckerberg used this as his opportunity to launch his coin, advertising on Facebook!

Man today has been one giant rollercoaster.

this means FB is going to lose and they are not going to let the money go
but they can think about filtering the cryptocurrency advertisements instead of preventing it

banning crypto ads will really costs facebook millions of dollar, I don't think it's an easy decision and needs hard work of the marketing team to solve this issue

the problem isn't about advertisements
it is about the scammers that can easily spend cents for getting millions
there should be more control over this kind of advertisers

Awful choice by Facebook @viraldrome. If I'm into crypto or bitcoin, I most likely want to see ads about it. Who does Facebook think they are? I'm fairly certain they've also done this with medical marijuana, guns, and other sensitive categories. Apparently a Bitcoin company can't advertise on there, but they don't have an issue with Russia placing ads designed to stroke hatred & division within our country!

...or perhaps Facebook is getting ready to launch their own coin...?

LOL.
Next will be the NEO and KuCoins that Pump as a matter of Marketing Principle.
Bitconnect class action suite just the beginning of others like B3.
Shall be an interesting year as we go mainstream and Bilderberg reclaims their Bits and Coins.

Will this really happen?

Looks like it

No wonder, can't compete, put them down, acting like our governments do.
