Lil Wayne Shares Rum-Tastic Studio Session Picture With Fans

in #music7 years ago

Lil Wayne is working hard on some new material.

Lil Wayne is, without a doubt, one of the most prolific emcees in the game. Ever since he burst onto the scene over ten years ago, his demanding release and touring schedule has never slowed, despite medical advice to the contrary. Recently, Weezy entered the studio to lay down some new material for an upcoming project and decided to share the moment with his fans.

Captioning the photo with "Kooking Up," the rapper is shown standing behind the mic, clad in an all-black outfit with red and white Nike's on his feet. Besides him on a stool curiously sits a bottle of Bumbu Rum, a company that calls itself the makers of the most decorated rum of the year. Apparently, their recipe is achieved through a "blend of sugarcane selected from eight countries throughout the West Indies and South America," according to their company website. Thought the bottle itself looks sealed, there's no telling whether or not it was used as a performance enhancer by Weezy later on in the session. Perhaps a product placement Instagram post, perhaps not; however, the important thing is that Wayne is back in the studio, in the process of creating some new material for his fans.

As of right now, there's no timetable on an album or single drop for the veteran rapper, who's looking to add to his legacy as one of the figures who inspired so many of the young emcees of today who have only recently attained popular status. On the other side of that coin, you have someone like Kodak Black, who has publicly sparred with Lil Wayne before, even telling him to "eat my ass" once upon a time. Oddly enough, the two have collaborated on a yet-to-be-released track that, based on the live preview clip, sounds like a banger. There's also the rumor that Future might join both men on the song, which would put the already promising track list into another category of awesome.
