#The Second Yellow Card For Mankind, It's a Warning Letter from 15,000 Scientists For All of Us
Dear steemians
The greatest threat of mankind is not simply coming from nature. Human beings actually play a rising role for their own lives. It is also what makes 15,000 scientists calling for an appeal that the greatest threat of human survival is ever more apparent. Quoted from Forbes, 15,000 scientists wrote an open warning letter to all mankind. This letter contains an appeal and several ways to overcome the threats that befall humanity.
In the last three years the temperature of Earth has reached its hottest point, as expressed by the Secretary General of WMO, Increasing the temperature of the Earth also impact on mortality, most of the northern Part of the Earth has the potential to decrease mortality there but not close the possibility of bad things can happen. He wrote warning letters by 15,000 scientists aiming to reestablish the human consciousness of their survival on Earth.
- This movement was initiated by an ecologist from Oregon State University named William Ripple. 15,000 scientists from 187 countries are involved writing this letter
Climate change that adversely affects humans and human beings.
An ecologist William Ripple of Oregon State University led a humanitarian movement to revive humans that there is still a glimmer of hope to save the Earth. Unmitigated, 15,000 scientists from 187 countries around the world joined in writing this humanitarian letter. Considering the many negative impacts of climate change, joint awareness is needed to reduce the risk of harm in the future.
- The letter to humanity is a second reprimand for all mankind after a similar letter echoed in 1992
How bad is our forest damage?
Apparently this warning letter is not the first, in 1992 there were about 1,700 scientists making a warning letter. Its contents at that time in the form of an appeal that humans have unconsciously destroyed the ecosystem and its habitat on Earth. Environmental degradation such as ozone depletion, air pollution, water pollution, deforested forest, species extinction, burning of excess natural fuels and fishery issues are the topics discussed in the letter. Luckily, ozone depletion can be overcome by humans after the use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) agreed to be reduced.
- The greatest threat of mankind in recent years and what is to come is a global climate change that threatens the survival of life on Earth
The endangered mammals of 2015.
In the letter, scientists underline that the greatest human threats come from climate change. The world average temperature since 1992 increased by half a centigrade and 62% increase in carbon dioxide emissions is a major threat. If only silence or self-stepping without compactness, human survival will be severely threatened in the future. The ozone hole has continued to shrink since 1998 is a testament to the success of humanity's cohesiveness of maintaining the Earth, if such things continue to be lived it is not impossible that Earth will live long.
- The decline in the number of wildlife populations and the drastic increase in human populations is also a major threat to human and natural life
In addition to the impacts of global climate change, the increase in human populations is also a threat that should not be underestimated. The increased human population of 2 billion can have adverse effects on the ecosystem, the threats of human erorr and disease outbreak will increase. Unfortunately, the increase in population humans are accompanied by a decline in global animal populations by as much as 30% and widespread dead areas in increasing global waters. The decline of wild fish catch is also taken as a threat feature of the declining global fisheries health.
- There is a glimmer of hope for mankind on earth to live, scientists propose 13 steps
Scientists call on all mankind to be at least conscious and willing to make changes. The depletion of the ozone layer that can be improved is a concrete example of the success of mankind. As expressed by scientists, it is not impossible that all can be overcome with willingness. The letter ended with several methods for reducing the great threat. Changes in consumption patterns can be improved by providing economic incentives, developing environmentally friendly technologies, setting up nature reserves, and reducing food waste by humans. At least these measures can reduce the enormous threats made by human beings themselves.
What is written in the letters from scientists can be a reflection together. All that is recorded there comes from those who are experienced and not a little time they are filled with studies to answer the solution of the great threats to Earth.Active event in Antarctica a few months ago then, the depletion of ice in Antarctica is caused by a reversed canyon that occurs due to global warming temperature of 2 Celsius on Earth. The thinning of the Antarctic ice sheet impacts the rising sea level. At least we can realize that the impact is so real due to this climate change.
