It's About Your Approach(Wafrica Guest Post)

Let me tell you a story
Kabir is a senior player in the hockey National Team of Amazon, he is also the captain and the most important player in the squad. In fact he is arguably the best player in the team.
Being in such a position is so demanding and Kabir has a reputation for being responsible. At the finals of the World championship, Amazon were trailing by a goal and there's just one minute left, Kabir has possession of the ball and he is moving towards the goal, all of a sudden he got fouled in the box and they were awarded a penalty kick.

Kabir is to take the penalty, the very last chance of the country rests on him, The whole country is looking up to him to score an equalizer. Unfortunately, he hit the ball over the bar. Amazon lost the Cup. But for Kabir it was more than the Cup. He was disappointed. Everyone else in the team left the pitch but Kabir as a senior player congratulated his opponents. This single act made the whole nation turn against him, they believed he betrayed the country. He was labeled a traitor and everyone treated him like one, he lost his dignity and his career as a player together. It was a great disappointment for him.

4 years later, the hockey ladies team needed a coach and Kabir resurfaced.

Here's where you should pay attention.

Kabir approached the Sports board confident and totally shameless, as a matter of fact, he made it clear they needed him. While they were still considering whether to hire him because of his reputation he simply said, You can't get a better coach than me

If you think he got the job, you thinking right. He not only got the Job, with his approach he was able to bring ladies from all parts of the country together to form a team which worked together, a team that was rather difficult to coordinate.

If you must know, they won the World championship that year, for the first time and he got his dignity back.

What's my point here?

The end result is just a tiny percentage of the circumstance, a great portion of it depends on you.

How do you approach things, when you are confronted with difficult situations how do you respond? Many have lost opportunities because of their approach is based on what they've experienced in the past.

Kabir will never had been successful if he had felt bad when the board mentioned his reputation, he would never had won the World Championship, if he had lost that small battle inside of him at that meeting.

Strive to win your battle within first, before you approach a challenge. What proved impossible for someone was achieved by another. It's not a matter of luck, it's a matter of approach.

Mind your Approach, It determines the end result.

Here's my admonition for you this month, Work on yourself, Be optimistic. Change the way you approach things and you can ultimately change the end result.

Well said bro! Mind wars are the most difficult but the success attained thereafter builds up your approach to situations in the physical world..
