Música de película (Film music) - Als Je Begrijpt Wat Ik Bedoel

I don't really listen to music much these days. I recently bought a small emergency radio, but of course it doesn't work in the jungle where I live. There's hardly any reception, except when I hold the radio and act as an antenna myself, then I can sometimes hear something. So, with the internet, radio.garden is a solution, even though the music is usually the same.
Radio JOE mainly plays music from the 70s, 80s and 90s and last week had a sing-along top whatever (500 or 100?). It surprises me what people consider a sing-along, as you can't sing along to many of them at all.
What about film music? The first thing that came to mind is the film Jesus Christ Superstar. At the time, I thought the music was incredibly beautiful and cleverly conceived. It would open the door to classical music for the average person. When it came out, almost everyone was crazy about it. From one moment to the next, it collapsed. Perhaps the wrong composer was chosen for the subsequent albums that were released (I had them all), or perhaps it was simply the absence of the film.
Now that I think about it more, about music and film or film music, a lot more comes to mind, of course. Among other things, the music in Walt Disney cartoons. But the Italian cartoon Trapito also has incredibly fun music and accompanying lyrics. If you've never seen this cartoon, it's definitely worth watching.
West Side Story is also definitely worth watching and I think it's much better than Grease or Fame or similar films. For me, those were all just snapshots and they're certainly not here to stay. I noticed the same thing with the top 500 on the radio: most of the sing-alongs are just a bit of nostalgia or a vague memory of the person who voted for them.
Sound is an essential part of a film, I won't deny that, and music also contributes a lot to a film. Years ago, it was quite normal to buy LPs with only film soundtracks on them. I never did that, though; I actually found it very boring to listen to. Perhaps this typical behaviour was also the precursor to the fact that I often watch films in silence, without sound. Sometimes I do turn on the subtitles, so that I at least know what is being said. There are also times when I just listen and don't watch.
Is there any interesting music, music that makes me happy or that impresses me in films? The last film I watched was good, good enough for a sequel, but I can't remember the music.
Looking back on the past few years, I think cartoons scored higher in terms of music than feature films, except when I go back a long way in time and think of the many musicals.
Are there any Dutch feature films, cartoons and musicals with music that sticks in your mind? Yes, there are. And while I'm on the subject of the Netherlands, I'd like to mention the film: Als jij begrijpt wat ik bedoel (If you understand what I mean).
I'm sure I've mentioned this film before, and now there's even an amusement park in Groenlo dedicated to this gentleman of standing, dressed in brown bear costume. Unfortunately, I haven't been there yet, but I definitely hope to do so this year.
Olivier B. Bommel is a gentleman of standing who lives in a castle with his servant Joost. He plans to throw a party and invite all the dignitaries from the village. The night before the party, there is a storm. The servant Joost warns of this weather and the Zwelbast, but Mr Bommel dismisses it. He does not believe in nonsense and superstition. That same night, a round ball appears, which follows Lord Bommel and turns out to be a Zwelbast egg. Bommel is a father, which has consequences for his status among the dignitaries, but as befits a good father, he leaves his house with his child to seek shelter, and the following song is based on this.
Incidentally, the cartoon is not just sad, it also contains a lot of humour, especially in Dutch. There is an English version, and I suspect that the film has also been translated or subtitled into other languages. This cartoon is still shown in the Netherlands during the Sinterklaas days (around 5 December).

La canción en sí y la unión entre él y Zwelgje me hacen realmente feliz. ¡Mirad lo alegres que están los dos mientras caminan por la naturaleza y cruzan el puente en ruinas!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the song separately on YouTube, so you'll have to watch the film. It starts around the 50:20 minute mark. The beautiful thing about this is that Olivier is initially in a difficult situation, feeling abandoned and depressed, and naturally afraid that he is already starving, and then, when his friend Tom Poes shows up, he stands up for his son Zwelgje. He does not consider leaving the boy alone, as Tom suggests. Freedom is above all else, even if he misses his bowl of jam.
The song itself and the unity between him and Zwelgje really make me happy. Look how perky they both are as they walk through nature and across the dilapidated bridge!
