I was never married and I wouldn't do that. I don't think I want social legitimisation for a relationship. And such a formal construct certainly does nothing for the quality of the relationship.

I doubt most marriages are closed out of love. I know none, not even those of couples who liked another.

That sounds so sad! There is something wonderful about loving and being loved. If marriage doesn't belong in this context, you don't need it.

If there's love the paper isn't needed either or?
All those I know do it because of the benefits (taxes, pension, inherence, able to buy a house and so on).
