My Favorite Cryptocurrencies & Tokens | Ethereum and Ether by @weasell

Hello my fellow member of this great community, welcome, and in this article I will be discussing my favorite cryptocurrency and the reason why it’s my favorite. So without any delay let get to the topic of discussion.

What are your favorite cryptos and tokens?

Thousands of cryptocurrencies has been develop since the emergent of Bitcoin in 2009 which was the first ever successful cryptocurrency. Each cryptocurrency developed, is for a purpose in order to solve a problem we are facing with normal traditional banking system. Cryptocurrency comes with a lot of advantages with some disadvantages as well, but a lot of progress are been made to eliminate most of this disadvantages which make the future with cryptocurrencies brighter than ever.

I started learning about cryptocurrencies 6 month ago all thanks to this platform and one cryptocurrency that caught my attention due to it different features found on its blockchain is called Ethereum and its token is Ether.

Briefly describe your favorite crypto projects and tokens.

Ethereum was launched in 2015 and it is a decentralize blockchain platform which is established on a peer to peer network which safely executes and confirm application code known as Smart contracts. This smart contracts, allows participants to exchange information without a central authority. Like all cryptocurrencies on blockchain, all transactions recorded are immutable, verified and safely distributed across the network.

Ether is the native token of the Ethereum blockchain and it can be sold, bought or traded just like other cryptocurrencies tokens. Ether is used for all smart contacts operating on the Ethereum blockchain as token implementation.

Why are you interested in these cryptos and tokens?

Ethereum caught my attention because decentralized applications (DApp) can be built on it blockchain. This gives DApp developer the opportunity to deploy smart contracts which has many benefits due to it rich ecosystem used for developer tooling and also be able to establish best practices which comes with the maturity protocol.
This maturity also has other quality of user experience for everyday user on the ethereum applications such as wallet like Argent Rainbow, MetaMask and other offering simple interfaces by means of interacting with the Ethereum blockchain as well as smart contracts deployed there.

What are the investment opportunities in your favorite crypto and tokens?

In term of investment opportunities, Ethereum might not be the right token to invest in right now. Ethereum just transit it entire network to a newly different consensus which is Proof of Stake (PoS). This move is due to some advantages associated with PoS such as less energy consumption which is expected to be reduce by 99% and will allow network to scale to up to 100,000 transactions per second. This move has seen ethereum price dropped. So when considering a long term investment I think you may take a look at ethereum but for short time trader, I will not advice investing in ethereum at this moment.

In your opinion, what makes Crypto and Tokens better than other types of crypto and tokens?

Ethereum is rank 2nd according to coinmarketcap in all cryptocurrencies just behind Bitcoin, this shows that ethereum offers so much in the crypto world. Ethereum is considered as the crypto digital universe, it takes blockchain further based on the foundation Bitcoin lead by including a computer to the value layer, which replace lending and trading with code.

With smart contracts network, project such as DApp, DeFi and NFTs can be built on it. With the new consensus, Ethereum has one of the fastest transaction speed of all cryptocurrencies and the main reason why ethereum was created is to complement Bitcoin just like additional feature and so far, it has been achieving those goals.

Ethereum is one of a kind and they is barely any competition out they and the fact that DeFi, Dapp and NFTs popularity are growing day by day make people to know how important ethereum blockchain is. I hope this new move to a new consensus is a well calculated move and very soon we start to see its benefits.
