Game review : Super Hot

in #videogames8 years ago

Super Hot. Super Hot. Super Hot. Super Hot.

Get ready to think. This game is not your average shooter, far from it in fact. This game is a super strategy / puzzler / action movie simulator hybrid.

Time only moves when you do. So therefore every step matters and every second counts. It seems simple in practise but very very challenging in the heat of the moment.

There are many ways to enjoy the action and destruction that superhot has to offer. From the short but intriguing story mode ( bout 3 hours maybe less) to the endless horde mode to timed challenges and limited use weapons, so on and so forth.

It’s really hard to describe this game and do it justice but clearly here I am trying. It’s almost less a game and more an experience , when you cut someone in half with a katana, grab their gun from the air , and shoot the bad guy behind you all in one swoop. Well words can’t describe how cool that feels, maybe we could ask John Wick ?

Click the trailer for the game here if you wanna get a sense for it in motion.

So wether you are a puzzle fan , time trial expert, sharp shooter extraordinaire , or just love a good challenge this one is for you.

This game is available on VR and also free this month on Xbox one for gold memebers.

As always make sure you hop into the comment section and lemme know what you think , what games you wanna see me talk about or maybe ones I need to try, or just plain old tell me to pack it up and ship out.

Sort:

It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years.

Have you had a stab at Mind Control Delete, the Rogue-like expansion they're developing?

No I haven’t !! I will have to look up some stuff on it and give it a try.

If you were an original backer of SUPERHOT, you may already have access to it for free. Check Steam because they may have snuck in while you weren't looking.

Sadly I wasn’t :( I just found out about it this month when it was free on Xbox gold

If you get your hands on it, I've been having fun with it even in the early prerelease version that it is. They have expanded a lot of the mechanics and there is just something that works right with SUPERHOT and being Rogue-like.

Unfortunately, the levels artfully procedurally generated – yet, but you find yourself in enough of varied positions that, at least at this point, it's not a huge problem.
