in #technology5 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone, one of the biggest tech events of the year is taking place right now in Las Vegas - CES 2020.
There's already a number of stunning releases and I've decided to compile the best of them here so you can easily catch up with the conference. The conference is ongoing and I included the link to the live stream, but if you follow me you can expect daily summary update!
ENJOY & GET EXCITED.

Sony Vision S - Self Driving Car

This really blew my mind. Sony has shown a prototype of their self driving car on the CES 2020 event.
It looks like a Tesla crossed with a Mazda and is heavily packed with technology features.

Sony PlayStation 5 - Next Gen Console

The new generation of consoles has been announced. Sony presented their PS5 just hours ago, while Xbox gaming director uploaded a picture of Xbox Series X chip to his Twitter.
The Sony's console features improved media, ultra Blu-ray drive, quick SSD and haptic feedback controller (!!!)
More info:

Samsung is buidling a baby R2D2 from starwars!!!

Well, not really. But it sounds like R2D2 and it looks like a baby assistant robot.
It's essentially a smart personal assistant robot pet, capable of interacting with smart home systems and intelligently controlling them.
See the demonstration video:

Samsung GEMS - Work-out Exoskelleton with Augumented Reality Glasses

Samsung figured out the lamest way of using exoskeletons - for reinforced workouts. Means, the exoskeleton adapts the difficulty of exercises by working with or against your motions. This device was announced on CES 2019 but this year it comes ready to ship with full Augumented Reality Integration. It would be much more appreciated if they focused on things that matter - such as developing superhero costumes...

Dell in collaboration with AlienWare released a HANDHELD PC. That's a new player on the market isn't it.

Dubbed "switch-on steroids" is somewhat an innovative approach to gaming.
Check it out here:

AMD announces a new CPU that finally beats Intel's best i7 (10th generation!)

Supposedly performing 90% better in multicore operations (I find it hard to believe). It features only 15 wat power consumtion and is said to fit in ultra thin laptops.
There's also a new line of gaming displays, a graphic card and a new line of laptops. All AMD

Intel's Project Athena advances.

New partnerships and promise of new functionality - Google's security level and apps and partnership with Adobe to Optimize the new processor for AI used in Graphicss and Video Editting. Also stuff like 16h battery life on watching videos from drive, or 9h for any work load on battery. 30 min charge for 4h of use. And a new generation of processors. Sounds amazing and a new line of Intel Powered devices looks sleek. It's much to summarize in one point and yet too little variety to write it in separate points. Here's what i recommended - watch the video.

(Is it just me or that long-hair guy has some drag-queen vibe to him...)

Razer created a pluggable controler for mobiles.

Dubbed Razer Kishi makes your phone look like a PSP or Nintendo Switch. Previous controllers made by Razer were all bluetooth, this one is a docking station, which helps with latency and energy consumption.

PLEASE NOTE

I had this post written all the way up to here already yesterday, I wanted to give you this stuff as it was being released, but unfortunately I didn't have enough steem power after posting two posts earlier on in the day and curating some content.
In order to keep the original title still fitting I've updated the post with everything HOT NEW that was released since.
I was planning to do it in two entries, but I'm worried I won't have enough power to post the today's update separately.
READ ON.

Samsung Sero TV - A rotating TV?

This one seems rather strange. It's a TV with a special mounting stand that follows your phone screen orientation.
The purpose of this invention is to allow optimized display of mobile multimedia content.
If you've ever used screen mirroring for something like an instagram story or YouTube story (I haven't) then you know how annoying it is to have black margins on the sides of the image, and the actual image occupying only a third of available screen size. Isn't that spin a bit too slow thought... some videos will finish playing before the TV adjusts.

A cosmetic temporary Tattoo Printer by Prinker

Ever seen those millennial chicks and buoys adding "virtual" tattoos on their faces in the selfies? Well now thanks to this brilliant solution aimed at fashion industry, you can print any design onto your skin. The ink is made of resistant make-up and you can remove it with water and soap. An interesting gadget, this technology must be dreaded by the tattoo industry!

292 Inch TV by Samsung - the wall is back

This is a ridiculously large TV aimed at commercial customers only. The price is exceedingly high, but the technology pretty impressive. You can take any number of these microLED tvs and put them together seamlessly to potentially make as big screen as you want.

Impossible Pork and Sausage - VEGAN

Imossible Foods has introduced the "most advanced" fake meat to the market. They've made pork. I've watched some people eat it and they are pretty happy. See these two connoisseurs indulge on the fake pork.

A 599 bucks gaming phone Black Shark II Pro

Pimped out version of it's predecessor with the fastest android CPU on the market and OP GPU.

A toilet robot assistant to save the day when you run out of paper-roll?

I know, I know. We've got global warming going on and wars in a number of places, but the biggest problem that humanity faced since the beginning of time is finally about to be solved.

Want to know how your dog feels? This harness will tell you.

Based on dog biometric indicators, the harness change it's color to reflect your dogs mood.

Face Make-up Printer

Let me say up front, this should not be legal. I've seen videos of monsters disguised as princess on youtube (a.k.a make-up guides). This tool by Opte InkJet automates the process. It automatically detects darker spots on the skin and applies the right amount of serum to lighten the color only in those places.

BrainCo - Bionic Technologies

electronic telepathic head-band to control computers with the mind. An AI powered prosthetic hand and more.

Virtual Sunvisor for a car by Bosh

The renown maker of household appliances created this virtual visor capable of detecting drivers eyes and blocking the sun only in the right places, while allowing the other area of the visor to be see-through. It's still not perfect, the visor is only 50% transparent, but surely it's better than a wide plastic board.

Self balancing Egg shaped personal vehicle chair

It can hit up to 24 miles per hour and is meant to move around the house and outside. It's aimed mainly at the "physically challenged people" but I'm sure a bunch of geeks will use it as their computer chair.
