HOW TO WALK WITH GOD? [1st PART]

Walking with God has a very important meaning and is to march alongside you in unity and in faith as you go through the journey of life. Most times, focusing on God and following his advice will keep you on the right track.

To walk with God on a spiritual level, consider what it means literally to walk with a friend or relative.

How do you interact with that person?

What do you expect from that person and how do you express or behave in their presence?

When you walk with someone, the two travel in the same direction. His steps move at a similar pace so that neither of them ever stay behind. They both walk together and pay attention to each other. In summary, there is a general sense of harmony, unity and communion between them during their walk together.

The scriptures contain several examples of men and women who followed God. However, to understand what it means to walk with God, look for specific examples that mention the exact phrase "walk with God."

ENOC is the first man who, according to the Bible, walked with God. As such, he is probably the most used example to illustrate this concept.

"Enoch walked with God, after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters, and all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years, and Enoch walked with God, and he disappeared, because God took him."Génesis 5:22–24

The central point of this written passage is that Enoch was in communion with God throughout his life, so much so that God took him to paradise at the end of his days. There is something important and that although this passage does not suggest that anyone who walks with God will be taken to heaven without trying death, it does imply that walking with God opens the way to that place.

Focus on God

Before you can concentrate on God, you must first free yourself from all the mundane things that distract you from your relationship with God. It is possible that these distractions are not "sins", but include anything that you give priority over God, consciously or unconsciously.

Go and Think again about how it feels to walk with a friend. If your friend spent all his time concentrating on his cell phone instead of interacting with you, the walk would not be pleasant and they would not be able to walk "together" at a meaningful level.

In the same way, the distractions that you focus on instead of doing with God can keep you from really walking with Him.

Christianity holds that the Bible is the word of God. I may not give you specific instructions regarding the direction your life has taken as such, but it does present a good example of what God wants for mankind and what he expects from it.

God would never ask anyone to do anything contrary to the scriptures that never, therefore, having a complete understanding of what the Bible says can guide you away from harmful mistakes.
