The Diary Game [27/03/2025]Wedding guest.

Hello fellow accept warm greetings from this end globe .To precise northwest region of Cameroon. Today is another awesome and exciting for me to face the reality of life both positive and negative. My colleague and at thesame time a friend of mine is getting married today traditionally . At their family compound occasions starting exactly at 11:00am.I had a lot of things to do for the today but I had to prosponed just to attend for my friends traditional wedding and the same time she is a friend to me .

Early in the morning I had to do laundry, prepare food for my family and keep the house in a good hygienic condition before leaving. It was already time for me to prepare myself and attend my friend’s traditional wedding ceremony. She is not too far away from me we live in thesame quarter but we have abit of distance.

When I was done preparing from friends traditional wedding I took a bike straight to their house.Where the occasion is taking place .I arrived abit late around 1:00pm,when the occasion already .I was ushered with a chair to seat and followed the occasion.

The population at my friend compound for her traditional wedding was really huge.My friend is from Kom a tribe from the northwest region of Cameroon ,Bamenda grassfield .Everyone dressed in a traditional attire to attend the occasion.

I earlier mentioned I came abit late and the part I started to follow for the traditional wedding .The part the groom and grooms men eating fufucorn with cooked Egussi .Which is part of tradition.

The next part of the traditional was the introduction of the girl .Its shows before I came in all traditional rites demanded for the grooms family to give .All was already provided .She danced and came out for introduction or presentation to the public with herself braidmates following her .

As the traditional rites ceremony was going on .There was alot of foods and drinks enough for the population. Also, I noticed the Kom traditional is one of the most demanding and costly when it comes to the grooms family providing for the needs.In the northwest region of Cameroon. Only the traditional rites provided by the grooms family was so demanding and unbearable.

If you are not financially stable as a man you can face difficulties in getting married to a kom girl.Now after the introduction, the last part was the handing over of the bride to grooms family .Since,the grooms family has provided all that the mom’s traditional rites demands to get married to a kom wife .

The bride changed her outfits and she was brought out by the family members and braidsmate .Finally the bride and groom recieved blessings from the bride family .Now their marriage is sealed in the traditional way as husband wife .

There was really joy in both of the family as their son and daughter has tied their knots traditionally. Only dancing,eating and drinking was not easy.

Later,I discovered it was already evening period .I had to go back home .This because I hate to spend late hours out and more to that my home town is insecure because of the ongoing crisis. I took a cab home.

while at home I heated foods and served my family .There was blackout in my neighbourhood. To stay up without no electricity is difficult.I called it a day by going to bed .Am day was a great one as I spent some time to attend my friends traditional wedding .
