Day 64 Cycle 4 And a conversation with my therapist that was a shakeup.

I received a call today a little after 3pm from the VA. That’s is unusual to receive a call that late. It was from my doctor. The therapist, you know the one who went to Europe and on vacation when I found out I had cancer. Yea that one. 😂

Well he has come by during me chemo sessions and we keep in touch. The doctor patient relationship went out the window years ago. Anyway he wants to set up this VideoConnect thing the VA has. He really wanted to talk about something. You know how you just get that feeling something is wrong. So I agreed to do it and a simple download of an app and we have voice and a picture.
To make things short I asked what the hell was up because he took the week off.
Come to find out he was diagnosed with cancer and was in Dallas at a cancer center. Multiple mialoma , its a blood cancer . It was caught at an early stated. Like mine there is no cure.

We talked for awhile. The doctor became the patient and the patient became the doctor. I can’t say to much because of hippa laws, you no doctor patient confidentiality. ;)
What he is going through I went through over 60 days ago. He needed to talk to me because of my character and strength. The conversation did him a world of good. We will talk again tomorrow.
I have said in other post that I wright these things because if one person is helped by my hardship , it is all worth it.

Its 09:30 blood tests are done and IV hook up is ready for the chemo. They are now hooking up the premeds that will help control puking all over the place. It will take 30 minutes for it to infuse in. This is going to be a long long day.
Its 10:40 and Chemo bag #1 of 2 bags is ready. Its a 45 minute infusion.

Its 11:30 and chemo bag #2 of bag 2 has started. Its a 1 hr 45 minute infusion

On the bright side lunch will be here in 30 minutes. I hope its good, eighter way I will show you.

Ooohh good lunch. And of course right in the middle of eating the doctor wanted to see me. We had a talk about the CT scan. They measured every lymph node and organ that was infected with cancer making measurements to include the bones. Every effected item was reduced by half. The liver they could not find any significant cancer. Even the lung lesions were reduced by half.
Most likely the chemo will stop by the end of January for a couple months in order to reverse the effects of the chemo.
Testing will be done to see if the cancer will hold and not spread.

I don’t think we could have received any better news. If we can get 3 more cycles including this one doing now under our belt, we just might have this licked. I will take this one day at a time and cycle by cycle.
I will try and put a copie of the CT report in this post or the next one so if interested you can read it and get a better understanding..

Its 1:30 and I am going home, we are done here until tomorrow.

Its 3 pm I just ate and now I am to tired to do anything. So I must call this for awhile
