The Future Of Worldbuilding On Steem

We launched the Worldbuilding Community with the release of beta communities a few months back with the goal of rewarding writers and game masters for the work they put into crafting fictional worlds. These past few weeks have given us some time to reflect upon the Worldbuilding Communities role on Steem.

Since the Worldbuilding Token uses the steem-engine, we are at the whim of what is decided by the steem-engine team. At this time we are unable to guarantee any type of extra reward for Worldbuilding Community members.

Out of pure frustration at the entire situation, 5 million Worldbuilding tokens will be sent to @null for incineration. Proof can be found below. Rewards for Worldbuilding Tokens (WBT) have also been reduced on posts using the tag #worldbuilding by 66.6%

Going forward, this is our basic gameplan:

  • Continue on Steem since we have no other option at this time.

  • Once we know how steem-engine plans on evolving, we will evaluate our options. If we can run on both platforms, that would be our best-case scenario. This includes running contests for both platforms.

  • If we have to choose only one platform, we will be switching to hive.

Steem has been very kind to us over the past few months and we are grateful to have gathered a nice community in such a short timeframe.
