Godfather of Rock 'n roll - Chuck Berry [part.2]

in #music7 years ago

Not only is his birth date unclear, but there are still many other things from the unclear CHUCK BERRY. He is reported to have had many affairs with the law including armed robbery and the transport of an under-age child to an immoral destination.

Berry was among the first musicians to be included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when the museum was inaugurated in 1986. He received the Kennedy Center Award along with renowned artist Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Angela Lansbury and Clint Eastwood. In 2004, Rolling Stone placed Chuck Berry in the fifth of the list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Chuck Berry was also ranked 6th on the list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time versions of Rolling Stone magazine.

His 1955 single MAYBELLINE is said to be the first rock recording that is often played by British bands such as ROLLING STONES, BEATLES, ANIMALS, and YARDBIRDS. His stage performance is notoriously eccentric, as is his "duckwalk" which has become trademark.

Another unique fact of CHUCK is that he is known to always demand cash payments in every appearance. He is known not to travel with a fixed band, as he is known to prefer renting and firing local players where the show will take place, and expect the players to learn all of his reporters before the show ....
