To live Christmas like a child

 

I wrote very often during the last month that December is my favourite month. There are many different reasons such as it is end of the year and we have some holidays from our study and can have some time off. I always have a feeling of freedom, I am aware that this is only for about couple of weeks but even then it is great just to forget for this period of time about anything and just to relax. I have some of my friends who travel back to their home. There are few who live far away like in USA and Australia, some of them travel back but often it is very expensive and they stay here in UK. This time we decided to travel to Europe, we decided to choose the Netherlands, it is not far away and also the tickets are affordable. We decided to stay for three nights but four days and that will give us one more day for exploring the place and we were planning to return with evening flight.

Before we travelled one of my friends found an interesting big shopping centre that is not only popular for the people locally but also for many foreigners from surrounding countries. We also learned that over Christmas time they were preparing something like winter fairy tale specially dedicated for little children. Of course, we are not young children from age point of view but we are always children in our soul. So all of us immediately said: Yes, we will definitely visit the place.

The shopping centre was located in Landgraaf, that is a small county in South-Eastern part of the Netherlands, it is located between German on Eastern part and Belgium on Western part. The shopping centre has a name “Van Cranenbroek” with a big parking place for cars so we had no problem with reaching the place as we rented a car too.

At the entrance we have seen these beautiful figures of reindeers, it looks simple and made on basis of wire but little light bulbs made the whole structure look very airy like in fairy-tale, so no wonder that children stopped and were staring at these figures.

 

 

Here is another amazing entrance made like a huge present with the red bow. You can see how people while walking under the gate look up, that is a great feeling and real “WOW” effect.

 

 

The stand that we stopped at was with Christmas tree balls. I love the silver colour balls, it reminds me cold winter and snowflakes. You can see that this cold colour combines very well with pink.

 

 

The whole shop was filled with many different scenes of winter stories, of course, white reindeers in real sizes and many, many Santa’s I like these colours warm beige, green and a lot of light bulbs.

We spent almost half of the day and bought few souvenirs for our family and friends. The trip was unforgettable and I am pretty sure we will visit this place one more time next Christmas.
