The Church is still God’s institution to effect changes on earth

It was a remarkable, authoritative and compelling statement from Jesus Christ in Matthew 16:18, “… I shall build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail”. It was a classic display of authority in the form of words and an exhibition of confidence to its acme. Various scripture pinpoint the “sovereignty” of the church and her contribution to the emancipation of world changers. The church as a spiritual entity and conduit through which the Heavenly Father operates, is to portray a vocation worthy of emulation and void of fleshy works. The prophetic ordination of the Church is to whip the devil to and fro, back and front and exert the authority vested in her against the gates of hell.

Irrespective of the glorious calling of the church, many have become disinterested in the church and her activities for their parochial reasons. Some have formed ridiculous doctrines against the church. Many have also taken advantage of the flaws of certain people in the church to build a theory of a gloomy and doomy church. Many churches themselves have not done themselves any good by swaying from the core mandate of witnessing about the Lord Jesus to preaching prosperity and other ear tickling messages. Many Christians hastily treat others as persona non grata and have no ounce of hospitality in themselves. The accumulation of some bad manners exhibited by many Christians make others wonder if Christianity is all about what is being exhibited by majority of Christians. It baffles the mind to find a Christian being a culprit in adultery, lies, occultism, fornication, bribery and corruption and many other shameful acts.

Amid these flattering strong reasons that are exhibited by many Christians, the original counsel of the Church can never be overemphasized and played down. The Church was prophetically instituted to exude light in a sheer dark world. The people who have chosen to purge themselves from the dirt of this world will emanate the power of God. The whole creation awaits the manifestation of the sons of God and it is impossible for God to lie. There must be strange manifestations from the sons of God that will cause others to hunger for the presence of God. There shall be a genuine thirst for righteousness where the remnants of God will seek nothing and nothing only but the presence of God. The mountain of the Lord shall be separated with distinct features that will make it enviable and cause many others to follow God as spoken by Isaiah.

Isaiah pictured a people with flaws in the first chapter of Isaiah but revealed the readiness of God to welcome and reason with His children. In the second chapter, God prophetically ordained nations flowing into the church.

The church is God’s institution and will forever be the means God will exert answers on earth.
