Looking back 2018

Dear XS,

This is Christmas night. And 2018 is almost done. 2018 is not an easy year for you. And yet it is definitely pivotal.

This April, you finally sat down and faced your finance: very scary. You found out your net worth was not only negative but also negative $38,000. You wanted to bail. But luckily you found Dave Ramsey and rolled up your sleeves to work on it. Now you are only about less than $15,000 in debt.

Now sitting before the desk, you still feel uncertainty about future. 弃我去者，昨日之日不可留；乱我心者，今日之日多烦忧。Worrying about global economy, confused about Amway business, still have quite sum of debt to pay for….But as I said in the beginning, this is pivotal. Growing pain is stressful. But after that, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are some lessons I wanted you to remember:

1. NEVER ever to get into debt ever again. The process of digging yourself out of the pit was painful and maddening. One ounce prevention worths more than a pound of repairment.

2. Happiness doesn't always require spending money. In fact, it is often free. You cut your lifestyle so much that you even slept in the office for 3 months. In some months, your spending is about $800. Yet you learnt to be content and happy. This is a life time lesson you should always remember.

3. Reading is power. This year, you started to read again, after so many years of mindlessly following other people’s thought. You read a lot of personal finance. Dave Ramsey, Tony Robbins. And you also learn from the great minds from books. Ray Dalio’s book is awesome.

4. Be an INDEPENDENT thinker. Don’t care about what other people think of you. There is no need to keep up with Joneses. The path to wealth is rare and different. This means you will be weird in your peers. Keep it to yourself.

5. Marriage is about love and becoming ONE. It is no longer YOU or ME anymore. It is US. You finally decided to move back to your husband. The night when Erik and you renewed the oath in Gaylord Nashville, it officially turned over a new page of your life. When you looked at each other, you found magic in each other’s eyes.

6.Love is the source of power. Always stand by the family and think US as one.

So, let’s talk about goals in 2019:

1. Paying off all the debt. Duh.. After that, start saving for a starter home and pay in cash (1-2 years)
   Donate 10k by end of 2019 and make 120k in 2019. 120k comes from E commerce, amway. Replace the income of amazon flex asap.
2. Keep growing your ecommerce business and be a 7 figure seller by the end of 2019.
3. Meditate 5 minutes everyday.
4. Decrease your blood pressure to 130/90 by 2019.
5. Discuss with your husband. LOL

Hey, girl, you have been strong and you made a great progress this year. The path ahead won’t be easy. But 2018 is the beginning year of your wealth journey. Live like no one else so you can live like no one else!
