Repetitive Distress
How many of us have been through difficult times? I believe that almost everyone, even children in their innocence, often go through situations that, although they do not know how to recognize it at the time, are stressful for them.
I have thought about this a lot because sometimes we feel anxious and go through situations like this repeatedly.
What is it that often makes us not feel distressed over and over again? Is our life more complicated than others?
Well, many times the situations that overwhelm us are caused by ourselves, by bad decisions, and this obviously makes us live more worried, because we doubt that God can really help us.
However, what really prevents us from reaching divine help is ourselves due to that unbelief, God gives us new opportunities every day and that means that every day is a possibility to change and improve our lives. What makes us live from anguish to anguish is that same attitude.
If something happens to us and instead of going to the Father immediately we get distressed, we will continue repeating that pattern for much longer until we learn to trust, God knows perfectly your need, your life, what you need, what you have and what you don't, then it is time that we learn to live with more confidence, that we take care of growing spiritually and let God do what we cannot.
Let the Holy Spirit take hold of you and let the anguish flee, so that you can experience the peace that passes all understanding, the Peace of God.
