STEEMCHURCH: The word of God is our food.
To feed our body well is very important for our physical health, without a good food and a balanced diet we can suffer different types of diseases. We also need to feed our soul and spirit in an appropriate way so that they are healthy and strong for the Lord. To desire the word of truth that comes from the mouth of God is something very important for the Christian.
Without appetite it is very difficult to eat and feed, perhaps when we are inappetent the only thing that attracts us are the "whims" but these end up doing us more harm than good.
It is a delight to feed on the word. Do you delight in the Word? (Psalm 1: 2).
"Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the Lord, and meditates day and night in his law," this form and attitude in front of the word of God is adequate to be well nourished.
Do you enjoy the word while you feed? In Psalm 119 the psalmist gathers his feeling about the word of God:
He delights, sighs for her, lamp is at his feet, defense against his enemies, brings him peace, orders his life, gives him understanding, gives him wisdom more than those who by age had to be wiser than him, she is your hope and your joy.
The experience of the psalmist is enriching in a great way, because he found in the word the food that delighted his life.
Mary delighted in hearing Jesus (Luke 10: 38-42).
Today we are short of time, we do not have time for almost nothing, not to be before the word, to meditate on it and the world wears and oppresses, full of stress and worry without realizing that the word is the good part that never it will be taken from us.
One of the treasures that we can do on earth is treasure the word of God in our hearts, like Mary the mother of Jesus who when the angel spoke to him kept the words in his heart (Luke 1:38, 47; 2:19).
A need to feed on the word.
She converts the soul and gives wisdom (Psalm 19: 7).
His word Converts the Soul (Psalm 19: 7a).
His word converts us for the salvation of our lives, because his gospel is the power of God (Romans 1:16, 10: 8-11).
His word converts the soul to save us but also to consecrate ourselves every day.
The soul converts us because its word heals and frees (Psalm 107: 20) and is like fire and like a hammer (Jeremiah 23:29).
He converted the soul of the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8: 26-37).
His word does not distinguish people, but it is for all those who open their hearts to it, as the Ethiopian eunuch in whom few could think but the word came to him bringing life, hope and converted the soul.
His word makes the Sage the Simple (Psalm 19: 7b).
Men without letters and the vulgar, thus qualified those who had been with Jesus, but they admired seeing wisdom.
When we eat what comes out of the mouth of our Lord and Savior there are many things that change, because he has chosen the vile and despised of the world to shame the wise and knowledgeable. (1 Corinthians 1: 25-28).
She brings joy to the heart (Psalm 19: 8a).
When we feed on his word there is joy in our heart and sorrow and pain flees.
No matter the circumstances because in the midst of them there is always hope.
Reading in (Jeremiah 15:16) we have no doubt that the message that Jeremiah received produced in his interior joy, although it is also true that not everyone is willing to receive the word as the prophet.
His commandments are right and gladden the heart, so feed your soul with the joy and joy of his word.
A word that does not become empty but fulfills its purpose for which it is sent, it frees from fear and anxiety.
She lightens the eyes (Psalm 19: 8b).
In this time of so much darkness and confusion, how we need the word not to be led into darkness.
Today when everything is confusing and evil is called good and evil good, making light darkness and darkness light, putting it as sweet and sweet as bitter (Isaiah 5:20).
It is because of all this that we need his word to be a lamp at our feet and light our way.
Being well nourished by the word can give us the view of all that God has for us, because it is in his light, we will see the light (Psalm 36: 9).
Jesus enlightens our understanding, because he is light.
It enlightens our understanding to know its justice and its truth, being helped not to despair or discourage us in the midst of chaos and injustice because men desire and ask for justice (even though we are unjust by nature) but only God's judgments are true because There is no injustice in him.
Jesus is the light of the world and when we feed on the word that comes out of his mouth we do not walk in darkness, because his word declares that the people who walked in darkness saw great light and those who lived in darkness and leftovers, light He shined on them (Isaiah 9: 2). His word lights your eyes.
As a newborn child, desire the unadulterated spiritual milk, that is, your word as a vital food for your life.
Remember that when you feed yourself with the word and put it to work there is hope for your life, so God reminded him of his people and today he reminds us of this in Deuteronomy 8: 1-10 because: "not only bread will live on man, more than everything that comes out of the mouth of God man will live".
Let's be careful how we feed, examine your food. Do not be unaware of the word of God. Let us pray and ask God to bring hunger for his word, because she: Converts the soul, gives wisdom, gladdens the heart and enlightens the eyes. Eat the Word!
One of the treasures that we can do on earth is treasure the word of God in our hearts
Thanks for sharing this very important message
OS
The Word of God is the ONLY spiritual food that gives eternal life. To all the thirsty: Come to the waters; and those who do not have money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy without money and without price, wine and milk. Why do you spend money on what is not bread, and your work on what does not satisfy? Listen to me attentively, and eat of good, and your soul will be delighted with fatness. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the firm mercies of David. Isaiah 55: 1-3
Blessings Man will not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. The word is our food, that is our spiritual food.
