Here there be dragons - Advanced Dungeons and DragonssteemCreated with Sketch.

So I like dragons. A lot. I was excited when Joseph Bloch asked me to help illustrate the Bestiary for the 1st edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons clone called Adventures Dark and Deep. There are quite a few clone systems out there and each has it's own strengths. ADD has a really nice feel based upon Gary Gygax's vision of what 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons would have been like had he been able to see it through. Of course Gary was ousted from TSR before he was able to see his vision through. However, based upon his notes and conversations, Adventures Dark and Deep gives a pretty good glimpse of what that vision would have looked like. I really enjoyed this project and was thrilled to be able to present my version of several iconic Dungeons and Dragons beasties. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little peek at some of my ADD art. Please leave feedback and let me know what you think!

Nice dragons! Totally reminds me of D&D art, Dragon magazine, etc. Good memories. Especially that first one, that's chompy!
Cheers

Thank you! I have a lot of great memories from the early days of D&D. I am thrilled to now be illustrating for small press D&D compatible games. It is great fun and a great, vibrant community.

Nice dragons! I'm writing a picture book about dragons now, so this post piqued my interest :)

Thank you! I'd like to see it when it is done :)!

Your Dracolich is fantastic. Well, they are all great illustrations, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Dracoliches.

Yes, I too have the love for Dracoliches. Thank you!
