How To Clean White Shoes (Easy and Cheap)

Step 1: Clean the Rubber Soles
Starting with the rubber bottom of the Air Force 1 we will use the Acetone first. Be careful not to let the acetone touch the leather. If the acetone does touch the leather it will remove the factory finish.

Step 2: Remove shoelaces
After you have removed the dirt from the rubber bottom take out the shoelaces. We suggest you wash your shoelaces separately. Usually, there are dirt marks between where the laces sat. Removing them will make it easier to remove the dirt.

Step 3: Clean the Leather Upper
To clean the leather upper we will be using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Simply wet the magic eraser with water. Squeeze the eraser to remove excess water. You do not want to soak your shoes, so a damp sponge is better. In a circular motion scrub away the dirt from the leather. Use a rag or towel to dry the leather after scrubbing with the magic eraser.

Step 4: Clean The Sockliner
The sock liner of Air Force 1’s is cotton. Acetone and the magic eraser will not work for the cotton sock liner. We have found the easiest way to clean the sock liner is with Angelus Easy Cleaner. Pour your Easy Cleaner in a bowl and mix with a small amount of water. Dip your scrub brush in the mixture and scrub your sock liner. Try not to completely soak the liner. Using a dry rag or towel squeeze the sock liner to help it dry quicker.
