My Steem Story by yeceniacarolina

Everyone has a story – and all our stories have something in common… we all started from nothing and knew nothing. People want to hear stories. They want to hear OUR stories — they want to know who we are, where we are from, what we are doing, who and what we love, what we have learnt and where we are going. People also want us to hear their story! Being a part of the Steem network is an individual journey for every single one of us and through this initiative we will share our stories not only with all who are already here – hopefully inspiring, guiding and informing them… but doing the same for everyone else in the world too. Through our stories we will prick the curiosity of those who have not yet arrived and illuminate and widen the already open doors to our one in a million blockchain.
We invite and encourage each and every one of you to participate and share your stories too! You can find the "how to" details at the end of this post.

MY STEEM STORY
A Power House Creatives Initiative

My Steem Story by @yeceniacarolina

My journey on Steem began thanks to a friend, @aresbon. She was so insistent that I decided to open my account. She had already started her journey here, but eventually she left. I hope that at some point the universe will conspire and allow her to return. The truth of the matter is that after I applied for my account, I began to worry, because after a week I hadn't gotten an answer. My friend explained to me that this process took some time, and it did.

Finally the bill came! What now? I go back to my friend and she explained that I had to make a presentation. How do I make a presentation? What things should I say? I confess that this was one of my first challenges: to talk about myself. I ventured to make one and only managed to put together a 5 or 6 line presentation. In time, I understood that a good presentation was the beginning of an excellent journey within any social network.

Later, I faced another challenge: What do I write about? I started creating content about crops and placing them on the @farms and @steemchurch label. My friend suggested that I do this, so I took her up on it. I started to present my publications and, like everyone else, I was not voted on or commented on. Later, the rewards came and everything was going very well.

Then I met the community of @naturalmedicine and also presented my publications. It was the same as with @farms, but then I received rewards. In those communities I felt quite comfortable and learned a lot. They are very kind and attentive. I found that persistence and perseverance are really important in this environment.

Unfortunately, failures with the electrical power, the internet connection, lack of a pc and so many other things, that I don't want to mention Ha ha ha! made me abandon the platform for a long time. Thanks to the good fortune, today I'm here again and, although I had to start over, I don't regret it.

My knowledge of the blockchain was poor: I confess. Together with my friend I was discovering new terms: cryptomonies, tokens, Exchange and other subjects. Moved by having more knowledge, I found the opportunity to do a workshop on Trading with the Erarium community and I had the chance to know more about the blockchain, because there in every experience we could always talk about any topic.

In the beginning my blog had publications related to the cultivation and properties of different plants and fruits. Nowadays, my publications are more related to narrative. In these times, I have been participating in the activity of Spanish Freewriter 5 Minutes Daily moderado por @latino.romano. Also readers can find entries to contests. I like to tell stories that reflect everyday situations that lead to look (-nos) and try to bring hope and encouragement to those who read me. On the other hand, I like to write micro stories that portray death, funny moments and more.

When I began this journey in this immense ocean, I did it blindly and here are my recommendations for new users. I didn't have the slightest idea how to run a blog and that led me to make a lot of mistakes. One of them was my presentation to the community. Well, because the first impression is always important, so your presentation, especially when it comes to a blog, must be precise, clear and forceful. It must leave information that will make the person who reads you for the first time, at some point, remember you.

In this sense, I advise new users to plan a text that allows them to promote themselves and, at the same time, make their interests known. Always using a language that seeks to create empathy with the reader.

On the other hand, it is always necessary to have a niche and yes, that is very important. But it can happen that, with time, your interests as a writer change and with it your topic within the blog. Don't worry, nothing happens. But you do have to be clear about the niche that will prevail in your blog.

I also recommend interacting with your readers. Getting a first comment takes time, but getting that reader back through your blog is even more so. That's why you need to let them know that their ideas about what we write are important to us and thank them for their time and encourage more interaction. Remember that we will always be where we feel comfortable.

Finally, I recommend interacting in other spaces such as the Discord Channels, there you can meet many people and from them you can learn a lot. Also, you can have the opportunity to listen to lectures on various topics or simply talk with someone about any topic.

image.png

Precisely, moving in these Channels of Discord, has allowed me to enter a beautiful community @radiosteemit in which I was received with much affection and I'm still there. Also, I have been able to interact in @nucleo-FSE, @ProyectoErarium, @PAlnet, @steemitasclub, @mayvileros, @steemterminal and many more. I invite you to visit these communities, you will meet wonderful people who will contribute a lot to your growth within Steem.

In @radiosteemit, I shared with many people among them, the girls from @club12 @marybellrg, @sacra97, @antoniarhuiz, @mafalda2018, @lisfabian, @drakernoise, @nestorgacia, @avellana... (I have to put suspension points, because I would never finish naming those who are part of this community). Besides, I also met @yonnathang, @fiction, @lenonmc21, @karmadorje, @helengutier2... All wonderful beings with whom I have had the opportunity to approach other worlds.

Living the steemit experience led me away from scientific, technical and specialized writing. This opportunity allowed me to redefine my discursive and writing strategies, allowing me to attend to other subjects and other audiences. I know that there is a long way to go and that I am still a small fish, but I am not losing my way and I hope to finish finding my way here.

You are loved, until the next delivery!

What a wonderful story! The natural medicine community is wonderful! Happy to hear you found your "home" there and even though you left for a while and had to start over when you got back... it doesn't really matter because this time you came back knowing where you wanted to be and what you wanted to do... you ha d afresh start, but were a little bit wiser!

Thank you so very much for sharing your Steem story with all of us and for taking part in this initiative!
