Hello my fellow steeminas. Again, I’m glad to be back this new week to share with you how I fixed a delicious pot of soup.

First, I'd like to thank @steemkidss for organizing this contest always.

This soup is mostly prepared in my state, and is very nourishing to the body.
So here, I made myself a good pot of vegetable soup, known in my native language as edikan ikong.

This is one soup I just like so much. So quickly, I’ll share with you the steps on how to get this delicious and nutritious recipe for yourself and family.

The ingredients are always the first to look out for.

So with me here, I have everything I got from the market, and they’re all captured here:

My ingredients

  • Vegetables (pumpkin leaves)
  • Waterleafs
  • Beef
  • Cowskin
  • Stockfish
  • Palm oil
  • Crayfish
  • Maggi
  • Salt

Step 1

First thing is to wash these vegetables and cut them separately. I have the vegetables and waterleafs washed thoroughly, and cut into different bowls.

After that, I washed everything that needed to be washed. That includes the beef, cowskin, and stockfish. I had it seasoned with pepper, salt, maggi, and onions.

Step 2

The next step here is to steam your meat. So, the process begins officially as we steam the meat. While this is on fire, I can go ahead to pound my crayfish, and get other ingredients ready for the cooking.

Step 3

Here, the meat is well cooked, and the pot is left with almost no water. So, I pour in my waterleafs, and at the same time pour in my palm oil.

The oil is to mix well, and in this particular soup, we need and use lots of it. But then, I choose to be moderate with everything I do, so I decided to use just a reasonable amount here.

Step 4

In this step, I have to pour in some water, and my other ingredients. The water here is just about the amount of water I’ll be needing to fix the soup. Right after that, my ingredients can go in. After everything is properly cooked, I can pour in my vegetable(pumpkin), stir, and serve.

This soup is done and ready to be served.
With this, I can have it with garri, fufu, eba, semolina or any other pasta.

To make garri, just boil some water, sift your garri to make it smooth, and pour in your hot water to make pasta with it.

The health benefits of pumpkin leaves cannot be overemphasized.

Would like to invite @smartlouis, @saintkelvin17, and @sur-riti to share how their meals can be prepared.

Thanks for reading through.

I like your recipe, I would also try to make it but beef meat is banned in our country. I will make do with mutton of some other goat meat etc. Thank you.

Oh, really?

Just getting to know that.
You can always use goat meat, it's even better.

Thank you for your contribution, sir.
