PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism can be termed to mean taking a work done by someone and showing it off as your own work and not acknowledging the real owner.
Many Institutions today are not in acceptance plagiarism and in some places there can can even be jail punishment for such an act.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

1. Direct plagiarism
This type can be called a copying and paste, the words are taken without even attempt to change anything on it, It is very common

2. Accidental plagiarism
This is done without the intention to plagiarize, by accident because the person isn't aware.

3. Mosaic plagiarism
Here the copying is not direct but paraphrased and the source is not added in the form of a citation.

4. Self plagiarism
This night look funny or a surprise but there exist a form of plagiarism where the author creates duplicate contents probably when working for one client and the duplicating for another client again.

5. Source plagiarism
This exist usually when a writer intentionally gives a misleading source or uses information from different authors but doesn't reference them all.

This shows that the author youngkay did the work in the year 2011.

Page numbers can also be included there, it will look like this instead (youngkay, 2011, p.14).
This tells us the exact page the information was gotten from

REASONS FOR PLAGIARISM

Here are some reasons why people people plagiarize

1. Ignorance
2. Pressure to achieve good results
3. Too lazy to do your own work
4. Inadequate punishment for offenders

WHY YOU SHOULD STRIVE TO BE ORIGINAL

Imagine taking your time and effort to create something and someone just comes and takes credit for it, How will you feel? Definitely Bad.
This is the reason a writer is supposed to create original content and if there's a reason you will use someones work it should carry the references sources.
Plagiarism can made you loose your academic credibility.

Having read the steemit etiquette on steemit community I can say I understood them and i will follow them.
