The Diary Game: My Stay In The Village Is Slowly Coming To An End 16/1/2026

A time comes in everyone's life that you wish you have so much time by your side to still spend with your family, but hustle and work pressure won't let you. My days in the village is beginning to come to an end and it's not been an easy one thinking of going back to hustle. I woke up this morning so early and had a conversation with my mum.

Waking up very early in the morning

We talked so much and I told her about some oft the things I was going through in the village, she advised me and told me to hang on that everything's going to be fine. When we finished, I told her I really appreciate all her time with me and always trying to put me together.

When I stepped outside, I fetched firewood and then my mum cooked for our kinsmen who came to visit us. Also, we were to appreciate those that came to our uncle's burial, that was why I told them to cook plenty rice so that it will be enough for everyone.

My sisters were trying to dish out the rice they prepared with the big pot so that they can scrape out the base and the one that has burnt, I went and helped them dish the good ones out so they can use a more smaller pot to preserve the rice.

When they confirmed that the base was ready to be scraped out, I took the big spoon and helped them removed the burnt ones, they told me to throw them away but I thought of animals that would eat it, maybe like goat or dog, so I told the young boy to bring wheelbarrow so that I can put the burnt good for him to take to their dog, he was so happy and he brought it and then I turned the food into the barrow and he took it back to his house.

When I finished, I was really smelling bad because of the smoke, I had to take my bath so that I can change up and join my kinsmen. I took the water and the soap dish to the local bathroom and had my bath.

When I went and met my kinsmen, we sat down, ate and drank together till we were satisfied. We discussed and I thanked everyone of them that came out. I told them I would also want to use the opportunity to tell them I will be travelling back to the city any moment from now, though I didn't want to disclose the exactly date for my security reason.

In the evening, when everyone had gone back home, I took my bath again and joined my mum that was sitting outside with my siblings. She was telling us how she almost traveled to the UK but the love she had for my dad made her stay back in Nigeria, it was a beautiful story to listen to. I felt sleepy so I came inside to sleep.

RESPECT TO EVERYONE
