Educar a Distancia - El Reto de los Maestros y Profesores en Venezuela - Distance Education - The Challenge of Teachers and Professors in Venezuela ( Segunda Parte ) ESP/ENG - por @yusmi

En la entrega anterior a esta publicación me refería específicamente a la parte de la praxis educativa de los docentes y estudiantes al distanciarse por los acontecimientos relacionados a la pandemia del COVID-19 y todo lo que ello conlleva. Las grandes limitaciones a la que la mayoría de las familias están sometidas por su condición social y económica contrastan con la realidad que percibe el Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Educación cuando pretende que s culmine el año escolar de manera "satisfactoria" desde cada una de las casas de los muchachos.

In the previous issue of this publication, I referred specifically to the part of the educational practice of teachers and students in distancing themselves from the events related to the COVID-19 pandemic and all that this entails. The great limitations to which most families are subjected due to their social and economic condition contrast with the reality perceived by the Ministry of People's Power for Education when it seeks to end the school year in a "satisfactory" manner from each of the boys' homes.

La comunicación es vital

Para poder establecer un vínculo intimo entre docente-estudiante y familia es esencial que se creen canales de comunicación efectivos entre las partes involucradas a fin de mantener una constante y continua comunicación a la hora de asignar y recibir cada una de las asignaciones propuestas por los maestros y profesores a sus estudiantes. Entre los canales más utilizados y efectivos están los mensajes de texto de los teléfonos, luego als redes sociales como facebook, twitter y whastapp. Acá las limitaciones se presentan cuando el servicio de cantv ( venezuela ) o la señal de Internet no cubre a algunas regiones del país.

In order to establish an intimate link between teacher-student and family it is essential that effective communication channels are created between the parties involved in order to maintain constant and continuous communication when assigning and receiving each of the assignments proposed by teachers and professors to their students. Among the most used and effective channels are text messages from phones, then to social networks such as facebook, twitter and whastapp. Here the limitations arise when the cantv service (Venezuela) or the Internet signal does not cover some regions of the country.

No recargar al estudiante de Tareas

Hemos recibido quejas y denuncias por parte de los representantes de que los estudiantes están virtualmente siendo bombardeados de asignaciones por sus profesores; es decir, le están dando más clases que cuando estaban en el aula por decirlo de otra manera... hasta los fines de semana algunos tienen que estudiar sobremanera lo que aumenta ya el malestar de tener que estar "encerrado" en sus hogares aumentando ahora el estrés de tener que investigar por muchas horas producto de que los profesores se están extralimitando en el número de trabajos que asignan.

We have received complaints and denunciations from representatives that students are virtually being bombarded with assignments by their teachers; that is, they are giving more classes than when they were in the classroom, to put it another way... even on the weekends some have to study a lot which already increases the discomfort of having to be "locked up" in their homes, increasing now the stress of having to investigate for many hours because the teachers are overextending themselves in the number of assignments.

Lo Cuantitativo vs lo Cualitativo en la Evaluación

Ya para concluir esta parte en donde hay mucha tela para cortar como decimos los venezolanos pienso como maestra que cada docente debe recurrir a una profunda reflexión y antes de evaluar cuantitativamente la actuación de sus estudiantes pensemos también en avaluar la parte subjetiva y lo cualitativo pensando en la realidad de cada una de las familias cuando por alguna razón no puedan cumplir de manera responsable en la entrega de sus asignaciones. En mi modo de pensar los estudiantes no tienen ninguna culpa de lo que estamos atravesando en este momento por lo que concluyo que no debería haber al final del año ninguno aplazado. To conclude this part, where there is a lot of material to be cut, as we Venezuelans say, I think as a teacher that each teacher must resort to a deep reflection and before evaluating the performance of their students quantitatively, let's also think about evaluating the subjective and qualitative part, thinking about the reality of each one of the families when for some reason they cannot comply responsibly in the delivery of their assignments. In my way of thinking the students are not to blame for what we are going through at the moment so I conclude that there should not be any postponements at the end of the year.
