Dreaming of Having Children

For some people, going to school, working and being established, getting married, then having children is the stages of life that should be passed. Both voluntarily and at the urging of previous generations, having offspring is considered an achievement. Being a parent is often assumed to be one step ahead of being said to be "successful", an additional reward because it can make you happy for those who can't wait to pet grandchildren. Not a few also still agree that more children means more sustenance. First, find a way out of financial, mental, and environmental problems after having a child later.

Over time, conventional assumptions about "having to" have children after marriage begin to be challenged. Slowly, individuals emerged who bravely recognized themselves as childfree, or decided not to have children. Of course they must meet with various scorn, negative stigma, or blasphemy when expressing their opinions in public.

On the other hand, there are also people who, even if they do not refuse to have a baby, continue to postpone pregnancy plans for various reasons. One illustration of why a partner is not ready to have a child is described in the film Juno (2007).

For five years the Mark-Vanessa Loring couple tried to have children before they finally decided to advertise themselves as adoption parents. Then came Juno, a high school teenager who was pregnant out of wedlock and chose them to adopt her child later. Everything Vanessa had prepared long before the birth of baby Juno. His enthusiasm was overflowing, all information about the development of Juno's fetus easily made him feel moved.

Initially, Mark seemed supportive and happy because his wife's dream to be a mother would soon be realized. Until one time, when Vanessa was busy thinking about the color of paint for their adoption baby room, Mark said, "It's better to approach the baby's birth time later". While from day to day Vanessa was increasingly impatient waiting for Juno to give birth, Mark was not as passionate as his wife. Even when spending time alone with Juno, Mark said he wanted to leave Vanessa and move out of town.

"I don't think I'm ready to be a father ... Vanessa and I don't love each other anymore ... Juno came so soon after we advertised ourselves as adopters, I think this is an inappropriate time. There are still other things I want to do, "I Mark. The couple finally split up, but Vanessa still did not change her decision to adopt Juno's baby, even though she had to be a single parent.
