Some Icons/Tabs in Steemit and Its Uses
There could be some icons or tabs in Steemit that we are not yet familiar with its use or we have not even used before. Knowing its functions or purpose could come handy to us someday. Below are some icon or tabs in Steemit, and descriptions.
- Compressed/Expand Icon
Photo above showing an icon when the page is expanded or in normal status. You can observed that there were two horizontal lines inside the box. Cliking it will make the posts/contents compressed and the icon will also be changed such as shown in the photo below.
You can see the difference that the page was compressed but the photos become larger. So if you prefer larger photos, you can do that with this tab/icon.
- Flag Icon
The flag icon is not that easy to spot since it is small and not that clear. There could be really valid reasons in using this icon since flagging a post would give negative effect to the author and his reputation. You can also see the flag icon below every post on the lower right side.
- Promote Tab
When you click the promote tab, a pop up window will appear where you can put the amount you would want to spend in promoting your post.
Promoted posts can be visible in the Promoted posts page such as in the photo below.
Promoted posts will also receive a vote from Promoted account.

Zararina? I recently noticed the "promote" icon at the bottom of one of my articles. I know that I've been a Steemian for over two years, but somehow I kept missing that icon. Anyhow, I came here to your article to find out what that icon was used for. You answered my question clearly. Thank you. :-) By the way, I gave your article an upvote.
