The holiday depression and how to handle it better!

in GEMS5 years ago

The stress to feel good and celebrate the holiday with utmost joy is pressure and reason for depression for many. People say and believe that as those holidays will not come in many days and some are once in a lifetime, so it's our duty to make sure we feel happy, joy and smile during holidays.

But our sadness and life don't count any holidays or any festival. It flows as it's own way. That's why I believe that it's okay to not feel okay during holidays or any other occasion.

But I can understand how hurtful it may seem to see every other people are enjoying and you are the one who can't feel the vibes. So, I think we can do something in advance to face this holiday blues.

  • Don't lose the connection with your life and with other people. Even if you are not feeling okay exchange text and call to feel a little good. You will feel a lot better.*

  • Give yourself quality time. As you may not feel good to hang out so make time for yourself. Do pedicure and manicure, read a good book, listen to music or what you want.*

  • Don't compare with others. Don't feel bad that everyone is enjoying and you are not. It's not your time and it will come soon. Limit your social media activity and enjoy your personal time.

  • Call for help. Don't make yourself left out. Reach with other people, give them the chance to make you feel better.

  • Accept your feeling. And lastly, if nothing works, if you don't feel like doing anything or cry; it's okay. Accept your feeling and condition and give yourself time to feel better.

Don't stress out to make yourself happy during the holidays. Accept what you are and take your time. Good days will come in no time. Let go of the pressure and focus on life!
