Golf the Joe!
It is a long weekend in Canada and every year, half of the family gathers for our yearly tournament. It is called The Joe because of the patriarch of the family who passed away a couple decades ago.
The weather was perfect though the weather doesn’t matter. I would like to say the golf doesn’t matter but it does. It is worth bragging rights at all of the other family get togethers.
Blue skies, warm temperatures and a lot on the line. Especially for me as I am the defending champ from last year. I actually parred the first couple holes and promptly followed that up with a couple bogeys which is all the better. I don’t want to win this thing 2 years in a row as I only married into the family and am there for the fun.
Though it is nice to get my name on the trophy every few years.
You know what goes good with golf? Beer! This is a nice American pale ale by Nickelbrook brewery. Tasty but much less alcohol than standard ipas. Perfect for a little active day drinking.
Better not have too many of them or you might end up shanking one and bashing a few of these hosers.
I didn’t end up taking home the hardware but there were happy family members who will have to do the engraving this year. I broke 100 including penalty strokes where they were needed. Missed by less than 10 strokes. Maybe again in another few years.
10000 steps in a Sun-soaked summer wonderland with golf, beer, fun and family. It doesn’t often get better than that my friends.
