Too hot, but you still need a dessert
You know those days when you have cravings but you can define exactly what?
The heat wave hit me these days, of course, it doesn't swipe away my cravings for something sweet. No, chocolate isn't the answer this time...
wanted something fresh, good for my coffee and crumbly, in the same time. And the answer to my expectations was this YELLOW POPPY CAKE.
100 g corn flour
125 white flour
4 eggs
225 g sugar
225 g butter melted
2 lemon juice
2 lemon zest
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
10 g baking powder
1 white chocolate for the icing
Preheat the oven at 180C.
Beat the butter with sugar until fluffy and white-ish. Add the eggs, beat slowly to incorporate them. Add zest and lemon juice.
Add flours and then pour the batter into a loaf pan.
Bake for 45 minutes.
When it is cool, you can pour the white chocolate melted.
What do you think? It's a proper dessert for this hot summer?
